Where I live, the provincial government hangs signs that let you know as a public service.

Drinking isn't a sin. Drunkenness is a sin. Eating isn't a sin. Gluttony is a sin. Moderation in all things.

Well they appear to be doing a better job of letting citizens know basic facts so based on that alone they seem effective.

Did you try googling it yet?

Drinking alcohol very frequently can reduce testosterone levels in men.

I think drinking is primarily a sin in Islam.

No they are not. Friends who we went on vacation to Mexico a couple of months ago are JW .. drank like fish the whole time .. but the religion is not OK with this .. adhering to nonsense interpretation of "body is temple" .. which .. if soiled .. not going to be part of the 144,000 or some such thing .. regardless Moderate drinking is a sin in the Church of LDS

And he was even described as a boozer (Matt 11:19), and he preferred well matured wine (Luke 5:37-39).

What wisdom was proved right by her deeds? 18 "For John came neither eating nor drinking, and they say, ‘He has a demon.’ 19 The Son of Man came eating and drinking, and they say, ‘Here is a glutton and a drunkard, a friend of tax collectors and sinners.’ But wisdom is proved right by her deeds.” Matthew 11:18-19 NIV

the bible even talks of daughter getting their father drunk to have sex with him, so alcohol was definitely around in biblical times

"Come, let us make our father drink wine, and we will lie with him, that we may preserve seed of our father. And they made their father drink wine that night: and the firstborn went in, and lay with her father; and he perceived not when she lay down, nor when she arose. Behold, I lay yesternight with my father: let us make him drink wine this night also; and go thou in, and lie with him, that we may preserve seed of our father. And they made their father drink wine that night also: and the younger arose, and lay with him; and he perceived not when she lay down, nor when she arose. Thus were both the daughters of Lot with child by their father." - Genesis 19:32-36

But how did they maintain their old man's erection if he was completely drunk and had brewer's droop? Or did they use an electro-ejaculator and turkey baster to inseminate themselves? Or did Lot tell lies when he told the story after sexually assaulting his daughters many times to coincide with their ovulations?

My concern with drinking is that I will get fat. When you drink alcohol it goes straight to your liver. Since it’s a poison, the body prioritizes eliminating it and will put off processing macronutrients until the alcohol is taken care of, causing those macronutrients to be stored as fat. The same thing happens with refined sugar.

Lately I have been working out and trying to keep my body weight after I wake up between 195 and 200 lbs. I went to Las Vegas last weekend and indulged in as much food and drink as I wanted. I discovered that I really like Irish whiskey. I even went to a buffet where I ate my own body weight in gourmet vegan food and had bottomless mimosas. I caught a bit of a buzz a few times but never actually got fully drunk. When I left on Friday morning I weighed in at 196 lbs and when I returned on Monday morning I weighed in at 199 lbs. Today when I woke up I weighed 196 lbs again.
