There is no celery option in the poll, so I decline to vote. OP does tend to post some whacky stuff.

See my signature. I disagree with the idea of pornography completely, but I also believe in freedom of speech.

Why do you disagree with pornography?

Because, it very often is exploitive and promotes the idea of individuals as sex objects in a way that degrades the very humanity of a person. I also condemn it for personal religious views, but that is another issue altogether.

Fair enough. I don't have a problem with any porn as long as it's consensual and involves no minors.

As long as all parties are consensual, then I have no problem with it. As for BDSM and rape fantasy, who are you to say what fetishes are OK? People can't choose their perversions, and porn gives people an outlet for them.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rape_fantasy

Fetish porn doesn't cause the fetishes, fetish porn exists because of the fetishes.

Degrading to women? It's degrading to tell women they aren't allowed to express their sexuality. People are sexual creatures, men and women alike. Some women are masochists and attention whores, and actually enjoy participating in BDSM pornography for those reasons. Many women like being tied up, choked, flogged, and slapped.

As for prostitution, as long as the prostitutes involved are there voluntarily, I don't see a problem. Now, this isn't always the case, but prohibition just makes things worse. Look at the system that is in Nevada, where prostitution is regulated and allowed only in brothels. This provides a safe environment for all involved, and this is the model that I think we should follow.

Since when do prostitutes make $50,000 a night as you claim?

Porno should be shut down and can be, but prositution I don't think can ever be. But the removal of Prono will reduce prositution.

I would like to see both removed, but....

I would like to see any pimps in the world have their sticks and berries taken off with force, and be beaten close to death. That is something I would enjoy.

Its the world, we are stuck in it.

Someone's insecure about their sexuality in general.

If you don't like it, don't watch it. You have no business telling others what they can or can not do with their own body. Porn isn't illegal, and it shouldn't be. I find some it disturbing, distasteful, and wrong in general, but people have the right to make and watch it all they want. Just because it doesn't do anything for me, doesn't meant it shouldn't exist.

This is were I completely can't stand republicans and their politics. Just because you don't like it doesn't mean you have the right to try to ban or censor it.

As for prostitution, its illegal and should be. I agree it should be stopped.

How? If anything, it would increase prostitution. People will always be looking for sexual release. Some get sexual release from porn, some get it from their significant other, some get it from strangers they meet in bars, some go to prostitutes, and some from all of the above. Eliminate one avenue of pursuit, and people will look for another.

Porn and prostitution in and of themselves are harmless. However, trying to ban or over-regulate things is what causes them to move to the black market, which ends up resulting in more problems. Regulations should be focused on reducing the negative side-effects associated with them (spread of STDs, abuse), and nothing more. Artificial problems caused by bans and over-regulation tend to be far worse than the natural side effects of leaving things completely unregulated.

It's not illegal in civilised countires.

    And it shouldn't be.

Why? To put more people on the unemployment lines?

So, you're against prostitution: which provides pleasure for one party and financial gain for the other.

However, you advocate violence. In fact, you'd enjoy seeing it.

Nice moral compass you have there.

If you have an imaginery friend in the sky who says you may not have fun, then you get what fun you can from the thought of not having to pay for sex. Investing instead in third world countries where workers are paid 50 cents an hour in sweat shops.

There's a thought in there somewhere that's at least as good as the OP.

Rather than what is said in the idiotic opening post, countries with more liberal views on sex, porn and prostitution have LOWER rates of rape.

and I go back to, if I dont' have to be exposed to it, either directly or thru the people using it sexualizing common conversation (see 'teabagging' and 'santorum') then I don't have a problem either...but that isn't possible, people that use porn are adversely affected by it.

This is no different than liberals screaming for gun control. I can't endorse either of them.

I know right...What an absurd idea that people should have backround checks before being able to buy semi-automatic rifles. How "unconstitutional"..LOL

Some women actually have a fetish with forced sex. I had a girlfriend who wanted me to chase her around the house and pretend to force sex on her. I never did it because that just felt way too strange to me. Those fantasy videos are just that, fantasy. Can't tell someone what sort of twisted fetishes they can be into as long as its legal.
People die in violent crimes everyday should we ban movies that show guns and death in them?
