Lots of people care what I think, including the many people on this forum who answer my posts. As to being a coward, I think its a very easy term to toss around at someone from someone anomynous behind the safety of their computer screen. Its unsurprising that someone who seeks to validate their own manhood by owning what equates to an artifical penis would indulge in this behaviour though. Because what the truth is, in real life, on equal terms, no weapons involved, no one like you would even think about challenging someone like me. Because Im a man, a real man. I dont need a weapon or pretend the colour of my skin means anything other than a different melanin content to know this basic fact. Something you can only ever aspire to but not ever achieve. How that must rankle for you!

I believe we need to correct an ambiguity, used in my opinion, by many gun lovers for their own propaganda and rhetoric purposes.

Gun control is a States' right; gun Prohibition is not a States' right under our federal form of Constitutional government without that power being specifically enumerated as being delegated.

Let me ask you this: if the founding fathers were alive today, and they wanted to eradicate the 2nd amendment leaving the door open for household guns to be banned, would you give up your guns? Tough gig. Where is the line drawn? How about ban all lethal weapons? Compliance weapons are allowed for households....

 

Our Founding Fathers already "drew the line" and it is reflected in our Second Amendment. We cannot ban all lethal weapons because a well regulated Militia is necessary to the security of a free State.

Why not simply expect gun lovers to love their republic as much as they love their guns, and become more well regulated?

In my opinion, we could engender a culture of militia service via "market" friendly means as a form of community service whenever gun lovers end up before the judicature of any of the several States, and are given an option to muster with a well regulated militia, simply to acquire the character of a well regulated militia; as an alternative form of sentencing.

People want guns and even if it would make them safer that bill fits a lot of things, you can do a lot if you feel like you have the privilege to come in and run people's lives for them.
The argument also looses a lot of its teeth because of a fact that the right and honorable Terry Pratchett stated quite well when saying "There was only one problem, criminals don't follow the law". There are so many people in America with guns that if you banned it there would soon be a large black market and criminals would be the ones who would want to keep their guns. You would have disarmed your populace and this would mean that they would be easy targets for the people who still had guns. You will steal guns away from your "virtuous" citizens who want to follow your laws, and you will empower your "evil" citizens who break your laws.
I talked about this with a self proclaimed democratic socialist and he agreed that the entire situation that this would make would be disgusting.

I most certainly am not a Liberal. I take offence to that (not really). It is merely this one perceived Liberal gun control stance that I more or less support. Other than that, regulation is usually just a giant kick in the teeth to life's go-getters and is against freedom of opportunity. Everyone else who sits on their bum all day deserve what they get, because they won't do anything about it.
