    There is merit in that.

Really? Is that because you know what others in the world thinks? Are you like the leader of the X-Men and can read people's minds?

I didn't know Bush did apology tours?

    Yes.

    And I suppose you disagree.

    Which is OK.

I've learned to tolerate libs and their opinions too.

...her problem is she's like every other "liberal", she's just plain unhappy, and like my sig quoting CNN, she'll never be happy because nothing is ever good enough...heck, I love a good 1$ muffin and if it takes a 16$ muffin to make you happy, you are just plain miserable...

Funny, in referring to your sig. It seems these days, normal people are unhappy. Tea Partiers, liberals, conservatives - everyone. The only people that seem to be happy are the people in Washington. Having all their fools out there spreading the propaganda gospel and arguing amongst themselves about how much the White House spent on muffins.

Wonder what the leaders of the world think about Obama since at the “Open Government Partnership” conference he committed yet another egregious gaffe by raising his hand to block the face of another world leader:

I don't even want to discuss women with someone who would take Michelle Obama over Bachmann. there is just no logic in that choice at all.

That won't be enough I'm afraid.

What we need is another election in 2012 and a new president.

The world's leaders can't respect this guy because they have to be the best in their society to rise to the top and clearly Obama is not.

Maybe a Republican dirty trickster in the crowd waved and shouted "We love you Mr President!" just as the picture was snapped and Obama couldn't help himself.

I don't care if these are pot brownies...no brownie is worth $16!!!
What...do you work for the piece-of-(*)(*)(*)(*) company that charged us that amount??

I'm so sick and tired of the fleecing of taxpayers. No wonder we all are bent over when it comes to the amount of taxes we pay. We wouldn't accept this abuse if we stopped by Starbucks and they tried to charge us $16 for a muffin. COME ON!!!! This is just common sense!!!!

Not only do I hold the government officials responsible for payment of this charge, but most certainly the company providing the muffins and other food items.

I just want to know the companies involved, so I can boycott their business.

Looks like the US Government is going back to the days when defense contrators would charge $500 for a toilet seat. Americans would be shocked if they realy knew how much corruption goes on in Congress.

Even at 30, Michelle Obama still was not especially attractive. Nor was she especially unattractive. She was simply a plain-looking woman.

The scary part of this is that government catering is done on a low budget. Private catering costs are even worse! If you think $16 muffins are bad, try $30+ cups of coffee. That's the kind of 'efficiency' you get in the private sector.

It turns out 16$ was for a continental breakfast, not just a muffin!

If you think the waste in the Justice Department is bad, you should see the waste in the military budget.

    1) Obama has taken 1/2 the vacations that Bush I, Bush II and Reagan took.

    2) From your OP:

"The numbers are included in a report that examined expenditures incurred by the Justice Department during fiscal 2008 and 2009 following a 2007 audit by the Inspector General's Office that also identified what it described at the time as “extravagant costs associated with food and beverages and event planning activities.” "

    Who was President in 2008?

I think I understand why the less intelligent of the right also blames the 2007 recession on Obama...

nobody paid 16$ for a muffin:

" ...the actual price was $14.29 per person per day, and included breakfast and rental fees for the workshop space and conference rooms."

i eat free continental breakfasts at Hotels lol, why are we paying well paid politicians to eat a continental breakfasts at $15 a head on a daily basis? can they not make their own breakfast or buy their own?

oh wait, that would be asking way too much from liberals or the President, even making $200k a year they still want everything else free and paid for by the hard working tax payer.
