If you're a police officer, it's in your job description.

Once we find out who was behind 9/11, re-regulate back to the 50's and legislate back our manufacturing jobs a revolution will be unnecessary.

Why don't you just hope for the Sugar Plum fairy to turn up on Capitol Hill and solve all our problems with the wave of her wand? That has about the same probability of happening as what you suggested, Clayton Moore.

While Jefferson was in favor of violent rewriting of the constitution every 20 years, I am not, so NO!

good OP & thread ,,, Americantillidie ..[IMG]

As a former soldier and present patriot , it has always concerned me and many others , and I'm sure you as well ,,, that there would come a day when the 'MinuteMen' would again have to arise to the defense of themselves , their Families , their neighbors , and their Country ...and God ... [IMG]

To answer your hypothetical question , I have always been on the side of the Law ,,, I would only resort to firearms / weapons in defense of myself and my Family , my neighbors , my Country and God ...

But I'm a Hillbilly , ya know ? we been doing that for a long time , prolly always will ... [IMG]

LOL What would this revolution look like? I mean what would be the sides and the ideas behind them? I cant see any definitive formations of either.

I think most have the romanticized notion of Revolution that they read about in their history books. Most of these revolutions, however, end worse than before they began. Such examples are the Russion revolution and the Iranian revolution and Cuban revolution etc. In the end, it is the powerful and elite who gain power and usually use their positions to enhance their grip over money and power.

Conversely, the American Revolution was unique. The Birtish empire was trying to extend its control over a land half a world away before the modern era of internatinoal travel and communication. A difficult task to be sure. So this allowed the powerful and elite in America the chance to rise up and take control, which they did. In addition, they were influenced to do so out of compulsion due to the abuse afforded them by the crown of England. They then sought to create a government to counter such abuses. In fact, many of the Founders spent their fortunes creating this dream. In contrast, look at other revolutions where the "winners" instantly attain riches and power beyond their dreams. In fact, look at the political "leaders" in the US today. They think political office is a good career move. If they had to spend their fortune to keep their positions they would all be gone yesterday.

Like it or not, when you mention the term "Revolution", what you are saying is that you favor a powerful and elite group of people to replace another.

So who does everyone wnat to be their ruling class of people? Is there a ruling elite worthy enough like the Founding Fathers?

To consider that the people that existed with our founding fathers thought they were worthy is kinda foolish. The founding fathers were a powerful elite that ran the nation. The blacks, women, indentured servants and native Americans surely considered the founding fathers to be the powerful elite.
There was nothing special about the founding fathers except a few of them were quite smart. They did NOT create a democracy, they created a land for the rich and wealthy to run, the powerful elite.

Nothing special about the Founding Fathers? Maybe they are not as great and smart as one Barak Obama, but I dare say many would disagree with you, including myself.

An example would be George Washington turning down the oppurtunity to be a king. When the King of England heard he did so, he rightly pointed out that this act of humility and self service to the cause of the Republic would make him a great man historically. Sure enough, this happened.

The Founding Fathers recognized the problem with direct democracies and as such, created a Republic. They created a land where people were allowed to prosper and broke all the rules in terms of social position and upward mobility. Those at the bottom were afforded the chance to get to the top. They also recognized human nature and the need to impose checks and balances. Evidence of this is the bill of rights which restricted the intrusion of government in our lives. It lasted for a little while, but over time it all fell apart.

Now we are getting back to the status quo in the world, which is that those at the top stay at the top and those on the bottom stay at the bottom. Oppurtunity for upward mobility is wanning in large part as we see the rich getting richer as government intervenes more ane more in the name of corporate socialism. It should be no wonder that the unemployment rates keep rising. After all, small business, the vehicle for upward mobility, has taken a hit of late and they typically employ up to 2/3 of the workforce every year. Conversley, large corporations are more parasitic in nature and the larger they become the more they mimick a government bureaucracy. Now the tax payers are their insurance policy it seems. Rest assured, the Founding Fathers are turning over in their graves.

Well said and I agree with your statement that many of the restrictions of federal intrusion and power have been largely undone since the Founding Fathers installed them. Mostly right after the Civil War and during the past 60 years with each administration consolidating more and more federal power.

However, the part about Washington is a common myth. He was never officially offered the role of king by anyone. That myth stems from one of his officers, Col. Lewis Nicola an Irish immigrant, who in a philosophical manner suggested he could become king. The quote from the King of England that Washington would be remembered as "the greatest character of the age" was a response to hearing of his resignation as Commander-in-Chief of the Continental Army at the conclusion of the war and returning to his farm. King George may have also intended that to be a belittling insult.

No, ill just take my family and go live in the Cabin my wife inherited from her Grandpa that is out in the middle of nowhere in the Utah Desert. I can hunt and fish and live on my own without any help so ill take advantage of those skills.

No sense in putting my kids in danger.....UNLESS it was a Fascist, Ultra Right Wing type of Govt that had taken over and was pulling Nazi type of moves. Or an Ultra Left Wing Stalinist type of regime.

In other words, if it was the two extremes who were looking to consolidate power into a Dictatorship....Yes I would fight. If it was some pointless conflict like we deal with now between our current right and left wings then no, I would sit it out.

Now a Zombie Apocalypse.....YES!!!!!!!! That would be awesome!!!

While the founding fathers did some good things, they were not gods, not worthy of worship. They were wealthy slave owners for the most part, who created a govt in which the wealthy slave owners would rule.

I think the war wont be a civil war per say. I think it will fall along the lines of a race war. I for one am sick and tired of the american white male being blamed and scapegoated for everyone elses failures.

If this comes it won't be a pointless political conflict between right and left wings. More likely the radical left will begin by arresting and incarcerating conservatives. Would you sit still for that when it is in extreme violation of our constitution? The right does not turn on US citizens. It looks toward protecting us from outside enemies. The left historically turns their sights to their enemies IN the US who are in opposition to the left's policies. This current administration is a perfect example.
