What in the world did they go there for? Michelle and Dr. Jill don't seem like the race car types.

The test is to pretend a white person was writing that paper. Just replace "black" with "white". If it suddenly appears racist, then it's a racist piece of writing.

Many blacks today use racism that existed in the 1950s as an excuse to kick back and not succeed as well as they could if they really studied hard and applied themselves like most successful people do.

And the ones that do, like Herman Cain, are excommunicated by liberal blacks and white leftists as "not real blacks".

For some reason, the NASCAR event is connected with Michelle & Jill's military families program.

How much you wanna bet they stopped by a local fundraiser on their way outta town?

I've always viewed N. America as being a significant notch above all others regarding slavery and race. They tackled slavery rather quickly compared to many, many nations.

Some nations still practice slavery and they have been kicking it around for thousands of years.

Michelle was probably trying to get the sympathy vote. Her and her husband are such polarizing figures, they're probably using this to strengthen their base.

Now, not only are you demonstrating racism, but you are also demonstrating class envy. . .even worse, intellectual envy.

That's pointless: You too could have class and degrees. . .You just have to want it enough and work hard enough!

Isn't that what your primary GOP polls (former) leader said?

Why don't you try instead to replace "Black" by "Italian," or "Irish," and see if it sounds "racist" to you?

It is true that the Black community has a culture that is different from the White culture. . .In fact, we have encouraged that for centuries. . . first because they were so far "beneath" us, because they were less than "human," recognize as not having much value as a White man. . .And certainly not good enough to sit at our tables, not even pray in our Churches!

Yes, Black have a different skin color. . .so what?

The fact is that the way they were treated, and the way they HAD to develop their own culture, their own music, their own language, their own traditions to be able to survive outside a society that rejected them (a society that still, in many cases rejects them) made that tradition, that culture very strong, very important to their life. . .and to OUR life.

Don't tell me you do not recognize "Black music?" Do not tell me that you do not recognize that Black people excell in some sports while White people are better in others?

If an Italian (and I am talking about an American who is second or even third generation Italian) or a Jewish man writes about wanting to preserve his connection to his Italian or Jewish culture and traditions, if that Jewish man states (especially at the age of a idealistic College student) that he wants to use his intellectual advantage to HELP other Jewish people, would you ATTACK him for that? Would you find that he is racist?

On the contrary, if people were to complain about the HEAVY influence of Jewish-Americans in politics, which obviously has affected OUR politics toward Israel for many decades. . .you would find people who would even MENTION that as "anti-semitic prejudice!"

I'm not sure if you are able to understand this. . . but if you are, you KNOW (even if you never want to admit it, that this is true.

Black is neither a nationality nor a religion, so your examples make no sense. We're simply following Dr. Martin Luther King's advice... judging people based on the depth of their character and not the color of their skin.

So, because a Black woman wrote in College that she wanted to use the advantages of that her intellect (which led to a great education) to help her community, you accuse her of being racist.

But a Jewish man wanting to do the same (and, by the way, all Jewish people are NOT religious, and I wasn't talking about "religion" but "politics" when I gave that exemple), it is just fine.

And when the "Brothers of Italy" want to focus their donations to charities that caters to people from Italian descend, or when the alumni of a renown college prefer to give scholarship to the children and grand children of other alumni. . .that's okay, no problem with that!

But. . .if a woman who HAPPENS to come from a poor, lower class at the least and recently oppressed community wants to share her good fortune and her special skills with HER community, it is NOT allright, because of the color of her skin. . .because it is a question of "race" and not a question of "religion" or "nationality?"

You are the one who doesn't make sense. Martin Luther King's Jr.'s dream was for a day when race would no longer be an issue. . .and YOU are making it an issue by differentiating Michelle Obama's stated intention as "racists" but not recognizing that her words and intent was no different than ANY of us, wanting to give back to OUR community (especially if it is a disadvantage community) when we "make good."

Instead of attacking her for that, you should praise her!

Yeah, I wouldn't expect Michelle and Jill would be favorites with the 'necks. The ones empowering the repub loonies, who are lavishing perks upon the super rich and paralyzing the federal government, and then blaming the Democrats for not being able to find work.

I'm sure this insulting, racism/bigotry-inflected little snippet from her elitist husband wouldn't do much to endear rural, hard working middle America to his elitist queen.

good lort...her 'intellect' didn't 'lead to a great education', she got affirmative actioned to the front of the line where people handed her a degree for doing zip other than writing drivel about racism

    *Sigh*

do you even research or do you just dream up stuff? Michelle ain't from the 'hood' she was raised middle class. Good grief.

heck, her daddy and momma wasnt' even slaves...

    get a grip.

the PROBLEM, which you have a mental block on, is that she is no longer a community organizer (agitator), she is the First Lady of the United States, not the First Lady of the Black Community...and she needs to renounce her racist rantings.
