Get a life! Saddam had Wmd's and this is a proven fact. He used them against Iran and his own people. What was not so clear is if he had allowed us access to all of them so we could destroy them. Saddam had plenty reason to hide the fact that his WMD program was nearly destroyed. Iran has been meddling in Iraqi affairs for decades. And the US was contemplating military action against him. More than enough reason to leave doubt on his part. I think we honestly feared he still maintained a stockpile, otherwise we would not have extensively trained our military to fight in a chemical environment and deployed them with chemical gear.
