I have to ask. You carry while at home? I have a loaded 870 in the house, but I do not carry it from room to room.

WOW!!! So does that mean you condone the use of force against the OWS movement?? I don't condone that, but obviously you do.. Who'd a thunk it!!!

In this case. Next time, make the shot more than "life-threatening".

I don't always agree with police behavior, but even you have to notice how few of them officers have gotten into trouble over very suspect behavior. So I was merely conveying how use of force works GENERALLY there are exceptions all over the place.

I live in a 18,000 Sq. Ft. building that has been broken into 7 or 8 times in the last 7 years. My apartment upstairs is fairly safe, but I do have to come downstairs here to post my BS now and then. 9mm in pocket at all times, even when watching TV upstairs..

Wow. I feel for you. It must be tough living like that, in fear of someone harming you.

Firing a weapon basically blindly into the street. The home owner is an idiot.

Yeah, you are supposed too rely upon government to protect you. How dare one actually think they should be responsible for their own safety and well being!

That said, sarcasm aside, it's too bad they didn't kill the sucker. Steal and rob someone, and get shot, you just got what you deserve.

    God I hate a thief.

Wow move out of the giant meth lab dude :D

7 or 8 times in 7 years, all the people I know closely enough to tell me about having someone break into their dwelling combined have not been broken into that often, and I live in metro Detroit.

    Great post.

I actually agree with you. I hate thieves. Hate them with a passion. Can not stand them. There is no lower form of life on this earth than a thief.

If you go farther, one could say all crimes are theft. Murder is the theft of a life. Rape is the theft of security. Robbery is the theft of goods.

But one should not go around shooting blindly because someone is stealing CD's.

I agree VVF. That is my point regarding the OP. There are exceptions, especially when a biased report does not give us all the information that we need to come to a solid conclusion, just like the blogosphere reports on OWS that can never be trusted. The shooter has not been charged with a crime, so obviously the police and the local DA know more than we do from an obviously biased report.
    I have to go now!!!!

    Goodnight...:bored:

Look, this whole argument is based on YOU not being willing to admit that I have a right to protect me and mine with deadly force when the NEED arises. That is the only thing we are advocating. You are trying to make us sound like a bunch of little hitlers so you can take our guns and rule people. This is the ENTIRE idea behind the second amendment and the right of self defense. If you don't like it .... go to Russia, Britain. Wherever. Just get the hell out of free mens lives.

Wow.. I wish people who had guns and are so eager to use them would actually post it on their property. I will make sure I never move there, don't want my kids shot by my next door neighbor firing out at his yard because someone is walking on their property.

I don't advocate taking guns away from people. In fact, I am in the process of purchasing firearms as well. I believe that it is only smart to have protection. But I also believe people should only use them if they are being threatened with physical force. There should not be any difference between the rules police have to abide by and a citizen has to abide by when using firearms.
