It's ironic how uber-liberals who claim to support the LGBT community work tirelessly to turn the only gay-friendly city in the Middle East and the best gay travel destination in the world into a tiny part of the Muslim empire where as we all know from Ahmadinejad and Co there are no gays or lesbians.

It's also admirable how the Jews have turned an abandoned desert into an oasis of civilization, western culture, tolerance, open-mindedness and creativity. That a tiny city in a tiny besieged country surrounded by enemies outnumbering them by 75 to 1 ratio has managed to become the most creative city in the world and the world's best gay travel destination is nothing short of amazing.

Uhm, you said it right here. A sort of desguised confession. Everyone knows, at least the Europeans do, that Israel is a borderline country: you've got (1) Tel Aviv and (2) the rest of Israel.

    True.

    ---------

BTW -- Israeli men have the reputation in the wider "gay community" to be very handsome and intelligent. That's because all (almost?) Israelis have to do military service (which keeps them fit) and the second has to do that most of them speak multiple languages and travel a lot.

Unfortunately, we all know that this "election" was steered. For whatever reason, Israelis really wanted Tel Aviv to win. I too, got an email to "certainly vote for Tel Aviv". So I did, because it seemed to mean so much to my friend...

However, let us not forget that the I can't remember the last time a gay (or gay-friendly) club in Belgium, the USA, the UK, Netherlands or Germany was bombed, or the target of an anti-gay assult, just to kill as many gays as possible...

You sure do. The overwhelming majority of your posts are about Jews, Israel, Zionism. Of course anything postive about these topics enrages the Islamonazis of all stripes to the point of losing it but they do care ;)

    Well, I care...

This not to be taken lightly, Snakestretcher...

I'm sure you don't understand the bigger picture because you are straight...

All around the Middle East, people are being put to death for being who they are. Except in Israel, and that deserves a tremendous amount of applause.

Mind you, that that applause isn't for the nutjobs who are in power -- but for the spirit of Israel who's highly social-democratic in nature! It's only a matter of time when the Left will rise up again...

They aren't being put to death for being gay.. They are put to death for rape and molesting children. Big difference.

So all the social conservative fundamentalist Christians who support Israel because they see it as a necessary step towards achieving the Second Coming of Christ (the Rapture) are actually supporting an active acceptance of the gay lifestyle in Israel's largest city? That's just too ironic for words!

Well, I thought it was funny too. But,...

I don't know if Borat is socially conservative -- he's a bit of a one-trick-pony on the forum: his pro-Israel stand.

    LOL!

    Margot,...

I've come to the conclusion that the Arab world is hopelessly underdeveloped and I'm tired of finding excuses for them.

Only ones I've got hope for are Lebanon, Morroco and Tunisia.

The two issues are not linked, being anti gay lifestyle doesn't make you pro Islamist and being pro gay rights does not make you pro zionist.
    Stupid fallacious argument

Janpour.. where have you been in this Arab world?

Last week KSA executed a shopowner who had raped and strangled young boy.. when his father came looking for his son, the shopowner killed the father with an ax.

One doesn't need to have visited the larger Arab world to detect it's sense of backwardness, Margot.

A so-called "infidel" isn't even allowed to visit Mecca and Medina...

Are they afraid we are going to take a crapper in the middle of a Mosque or something?

Sorry but witnessing an event/place/movement is not a pre-requisite for comment, on this forum or anywhere. Not unless you think reading the internet, watching the news or reading books are invalid sources of information. Do you ever quote news articles ?

Asssumptions can be misleading.. Do you think ordinary living makes news?

One has to be discerning whether you are looking at some Haredi spitting on little girls or a Muslim pedophile being put to death.

To say the whole of the Arab world is backwards is rather silly.

BS, homosexuality is a capital offense in many Muslim majority countries including your beloved house of Saud.

While both actions are repulsive your attempt to draw moral equivalence between spitting and a murder is no less repulsive. Lest we forget that it's not just pedofiles, they put to death, gays, adulterers fare just as bad.

Moral equivalency? You missed the whole point. No surprise to me.
