I do not agree that the so called left embrace Castro or Chavez. The radicals of the ‘60s and early ‘70s perhaps but after years of not even holding elections most liberals saw through Castro. Chavez was a result of constant meddling by CIA in Central and South America which installed several puppet right wing sellouts into power down there. I did not defend Obama, nor am I a fan of him ... but it's just a fact that he was handed over by the 2008 crisis a pile of rubble from Bush. And the cost of doing so ... to prevent a depression like in the late 1920's / early 1930's, a lot of tax money was needed, more than what the revenue was!
