It'd only be a coup if it was being instigated by the Vice President since he's the one who would take over. Anyone else would still have to be elected to become the next President regardless. You're free to consider the process wrong for some reason but calling it a "coup" is just lazy rhetoric. I guess that makes good money for the writers though.
Mark Zaid actually tweeted the word, "COUP." And now we have an inquiry about the whistleblower and a, "Go Fund Me," page. Actually I didnt call it a coup joe, that was the title of the article as quoted, but I believe that Schiff is most definitely perpetrating a coup thats going to backfire in the end
