well, i guess you can just cut things with scissors of you have to. I hope you at least wiped the butter off that thing before you handed it over. I promise they had a huge laugh over this.
Part of the discussion regarding knife crime in the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. I would imagine a lot of Americans will be dismissive because they might see American human beings as different to human beings in the UK.
Thank you for pointing out our shortcomings in freedom. Otherwise we might be none the wiser. But why would you surrender a knife to the Police station. Is that like penance to God? Is character made finer in repose? Like someone already said, 99% of American gun owners have proven their mettle. What is your proof in never having met the challenge? Yes you have less violence. But you haven't the liberty for it to manifest itself. Consequently you also have no proven excellence beyond an imaginary image of righteousness. If that is the path you choose, so be it.
yeah it might sneak out in the dark and shank some people or exert some psychic powers, causing you to become another mad slasher?
see my answer above. it looks like its made of 420C, and it appears to be a distant knockoff of a Gerber BMF
Hyperbolic rhetoric is no substitute to rational thought. Nobody has claimed to have been attacked "by a roving gang of 45 lunatics" but the fact that there are many legitimate acts of self defense with a firearm The firearms you are attempting to describe are used by Americans to defend themselves every day. I am over 70 years old and can think of 3 instances in which having a gun saved me from individuals who were not intent on making me any healthier, wealthier or happier. No sane person goes trolling rough neighborhoods hoping to encounter violent criminals but when violent criminals happen to chose you, your choices are limited and none of them are good. In 1980, the only house I could afford to buy was in an inner city neighborhood with a fairly high crime rate but was only 4 blocks from my blacksmith shop. I lived there for over 20 years and can think of 3 times that I had to deploy a firearm to repel armed predators. Unfortunately, one night I found my friend and upstairs neighbor murdered with a hatchet and the case remains open. Soon after that, the next door neighbors had their phone lines cut (pre cell phone era) by home invaders I was able to deter. It's also a mistake to think that firearms are only for killing since over 19 million Americans engage in some form of target shooting.(1) This includes a surprising number of women who are attracted to the competitive shooting sports(2) and progress on to the Olympic level. Finally, it is regrettable that when people think of a gun they only think of school shootings when, for so long so many schools had rifle teams as part of the sports program and the Boy Scouts required rifle proficiency. It its only my opinion that there's no point in demonizing an inanimate object when it's human behavior that deserves our attention. Thanks, (1). “Different Types of Competition Shooting" https://schooloftrades.edu/different-types-of-competition-shooting/ EXCERPT “The National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF) states that 19 million plus Americans safely invest their time in target practice. They use handguns, shotguns and rifles. Some of this is for fun and much of it is for competitive shooting. Practice makes perfect.” CONTINUED (2) "Top 50 Women in Competitive Shooting" https://www.ssusa.org/articles/2017/6/19/top-50-women-in-competitive-shooting/ EXCERPT "From action pistol and bullseye champions, smallbore, high power and precision rifle masters, trapshooters and Olympic gold medalists—SSUSA has compiled this list of 50 (52 to be exact) female athletes that are influencing the ever-changing landscape of competitive shooting—for the better. Note: This isn’t a ranking, though we purposely grouped the first four women at the front in recognition of the attention generated by their respective shooting careers. Otherwise it’s a random selection, with the goal of presenting female shooters from as many disciplines as possible."CONTINUED
Or it would just stay in my house taking up unnecessary space......It was a drug addict's knife that was hidden. Apparently according to Fatback I should be in prison now
well if you were caught carrying it, you might well be. It's not a very good quality blade but it would be ideal for doing stuff like opening cartons.
Lol, good point. The last thing he wants is his scary knife out slashing teens when it’s supposed to be home spreading jam on toast. people in the UK are 10 ply.
I never said there wasn't legitimate self defense issues. Those self defense issues can be addressed with a pistol or a shotgun. No need for a semi automatic rifle.
Thanks for the information. While you are rummaging around your multiple historic properties please be on the look out for golden Roman coins, Celtic swords and other trinkets. The way the news has been reading lately someone discovers some ancient treasure just about every day. Good luck,
You said NO ONE carries an AR-15 in public. Now you're saying no one with brains carries one. Great, you're admitting that the people who do carry them are stupid. That does NOT make me feel any safer.
Of course you have a right to that opinion but I felt that the Ruger Mini-14 I had was the best choice against multiple home invaders. Yes, I was scared.
https://abc13.com/shooting-homicide-investigation-east-houston-four-people-shot/5097015/ A shotgun is entirely more random than a rifle. Rifle > Pistol > Shotgun Its not about your feelings.
first off it’s the best home defense weapon you can buy. The AR is amazing at shorter barrel lengths and frangible rounds. It’s the best room clearing solution. I misspoke, yes people have openly carried it but it’s typically for a demonstration. Just because you CAN carry one around doesn’t make it a good idea. I won’t call them stupid, I’ll just say it’s not my tactical choice. Who knows, maybe that guy in the last pic is a former service member.
I am trying to understand this bit. You seem to be saying the UK has less violence because it is a place that accepts restrictions on routes to violence. It is the next bit 'Consequently you also have no proven excellence'. Do you mean no proven excellence in being violent?
Trustworthiness. 99+% of one hundred million law abiding American gun owners have proven themselves trustworthy. Without the right to keep and bear arms, this couldn't be known or proven. No character would be built or improved. All liberties are that way. You can't compare US gun deaths to England gun deaths if England doesn't have the gun liberty equal to US gun liberty. If less than one percent of our ships sink and more than 99 percent are proven sea worthy. You can't say that your own ships don't sink if none of them have ever set to sea or met a wave. Not to mention the dearth of seamanship skills from floating a rubber ducky in a tub. Pretended character is no character at all. Two hundred and fifty years ago, America didn't request independence from the English King and Church. We declared it. And neither the English King nor the official Church of England had any respect whatsoever for the God of American freedom as referred to in our Declaration Of Independence. So we had to use our guns to secure our independence. Therefore in our Constitution, just under the God given right to speak freely and worship whom or what we may, is the God given right of the people to keep and bear arms.
So what's the maximum blade size you can conceal carry in the UK? You're telling me I'm wrong so you answer the question
That's why they hate and despise our gun rights so badly. We stand as a constant and sore reminder of a free people with rights. We remind them everyday that they rolled over and gave up their rights to self defense.
