When Harry Potter books first started making the rounds, I was amazed at who I saw reading them. I often visit factories and would see crusty old maintenance guys who probably hadn't read a book in 30 years, reading Harry Potter at lunch and on breaks.

Indeed, J. K. Rowling is credited with inspiring more people to read than anyone in history.

I would argue that isn't quite true. I would argue that title goes to Johannes Gutenberg.

Dumbledore is the headmaster of a regular high school. He is not very educated

Harry Potter in the 2000s was the most popular book in Russia. I remember how chapters of a new book appeared on the Internet and they were immediately translated by volunteer translators and posted online.

I watched all the Harry Potter movies in the pirated version. But I went to watch the last movie at the cinema on principle. So I wanted to express my respect for Rowling
