The year 2017 saw the emergence and growth of the so-called “Resistance,” the left-wing opposition to President Donald Trump that is now the basis of the Democratic Party’s grass-roots strategy for the 2018 midterm elections.
Though the name “Resistance” is phony, casting its participants as romantic heroes, America as foreign-occupied territory, and Trump as some kind of Nazi dictator, it is a very real political phenomenon that is reshaping politics.

Here are are the stages of its story.

    1. Primal Scream. In the days after Trump won the 2016 presidential election, the left reacted in shock and horror. There were riots in some cities, and mass demonstrations in others. Hundreds of people showed up on cold night on the steps of the Los Angeles City Hall last November, for example, to protest the appointment of Steve Bannon as President Trump’s chief adviser. At that stage, the “Resistance” was just a tantrum, a scream, a visceral reaction.

    2. Women’s March. On Inauguration Day, left-wing groups staged violent riots in Washington, DC. But the real protest came the next day, when hundreds of thousands of women, many of them wearing woolen pink “pussyhats,” marched in the capital and around the country. They rejected the legitimacy of the Trump presidency and promised to continue protesting him, essentially continuing Hillary Clinton’s campaign. But there was no real strategy — yet.

    3. Airport protests. After a week in office, President Trump issued his infamous executive order restricting travel — temporarily — from six terror-prone states that happened to be largely Muslim as well. Thousands of protesters flocked to airports across the nation to demand that travelers detained under the new rules be freed. The ACLU mobilized to train hundreds of lawyers to help fight the new order in court. The “Resistance” had begun to form.
    4. Deep State. Holdovers from the Obama administration, and left-leaning career servants, began to work against the new administration — usually covertly, but occasionally in the open. Acting Attorney General Sally Yates defied Trump’s instructions to defend his “travel ban” and became an instant heroine. Members of the law enforcement and intelligence communities also leaked damaging, often classified, information to the media. (Those efforts continue.)

    5. Censorship. The left had long ago pioneered the tactic of organizing advertising boycotts against conservative news outlets and pundits. They stepped up those efforts. Internet giants like Facebook, Google, and Twitter, which were blamed for promoting “fake news” that had ostensibly led to Trump’s victory, came under increased pressure to censor their content. Students, activists, and left-wing clergy even boycotted events with Trump and his Cabinet.

The article goes on to discuss the role of former Obama regime officials in the resistance. It then talks about their effects in Virginia and Alabama. The resistance is a fraud. There is nothing going on in America to merit a legitimate resistance movement against.

Over-breeding, illegal immigration, and unnecessary legal immigration.

America wont remain a country for long.

It will split into a multi-ethnic empire.

And the reason for that is because there was a singular thing that made America what it is, Christian aligned Whites, and for some reason that identity is now considered "literally Hitler" and must be destroyed.

The more we shun what is successful in favor of what isn't, the more we define sections of our nation that are "bad" or "failed".

Right now we have failed cities littering our landscape and they are propped up by their neighbors.

But at a certain point those cities will blend into a territorial majority and the ones who sustain those who cannot sustain themselves will reach a breaking point.

Cutting away diseased portions of America will be akin to cutting away a decimated limb.

This will be further easily facilitated by the fact of what got us to that point in the first place; these failed fractures will also be mirrored by racial fractures.

In other words you will sections of the country, divided heavily along racial lines, all looking at each other and seeing an enemy.

At that point we either cease to be The United States of America and instead become some loosely associated multi-ethnic empire ...or we have another civil war.

And this was all spurred on by radical, bigoted, race obsessed, violence prone, cancerous liberalism.

Making this a race issue is a lot easier than taking responsibility.

Working people were taxed to the point of being willing to vote for someone they don't like. Your parties level of overreach hit a tipping point and you are here telling us that Hillary was so great that only a racist could vote against her!!!

And what a smashing success this RESISTance has been so far... Trump being a natural negotiator and a former liberal without strong political convictions could have met the libs half way if they were willing to work with him and negotiate. But they choose to 'RESIST' so they get the worst from the libs perspective deal on the Tax reform, the worst from the libs perspective deal on federal judges, the worst from the libs perspective deal on climate, the worst from the libs' perspective deal on immigration....

Brilliant strategy this RESISTance is and obviously incredibly successful, well done TDS patients :D

Huh? What 2017 did you just live through??... I just signed up for a local Mueller firing protest, should that event happen. I haven't actively protested a thing in my life, but I can't think of anything more worthy of protest than a Trump presidency (should that event happen).... Besides, it's always possible there will be some hot chicks there...

LOL, it's actually funny, you are disputing the statement that there is nothing that merits a legitimate resistance by admitting that you are protesting something that has not even happened :D

He's got nothing else. The old strategy no longer works, the current crop isn't smart enough to think up new ones, so they repeat what they know.

    It's all they have.

Trump showed the world, in 2017, what a failure Obama was:

Under Trump, the Islamic State shrank by 95%. Its operations have retreated to Afghanistan.

Trump's ability to show Obama's failure is Trump's biggest sin.

    Eugene Robinson wrote:

Grit your teeth. Persevere. Just a few more days and this awful, rotten, no-good, ridiculous, rancorous, sordid, disgraceful year in the civic life of our nation will be over. Here’s hoping that we all — particularly special counsel Robert S. Mueller III — have a better 2018.Many of us began 2017 with the consoling thought that the Donald Trump presidency couldn’t possibly be as bad as we feared. It turned out to be worse.

I can see why Robinson wants Trump gone because Trump's success shows what a failure Obama was.

You have an actual talent for semi misquoting or misunderstanding simple concepts...I have to assume it's intentional...

VIEWPOINT SUPPRESSION: ‘The Public Deserves Transparency’: Trump Campaign, RNC Take on Silicon Valley Over Alleged Censorship.

President Trump’s 2020 campaign manager Brad Parscale and the Republican National Committee are taking their fight against the censorship of conservative views right to the source.

Parscale and the RNC on Thursday sent a letter to Facebook and Twitter expressing concern about conservative voices being suppressed and asking the social media giants for transparency about how they will ensure that everyone has a voice on their platforms.

We’re going to see antitrust regulation, I think.
