Someone a few pages back said Fairfax County hasn't been counted yet and they are expected to be almost solid blue. Still, I hate it when a state gets "called" and the numbers we're seeing don't match up with the call.
It doesn't matter. They look at where the votes have been counted compared to what they know will come in. It's extremely rare that they call a state incorrectly.
NYTimes has FL, GA, and NC all slipping away from Biden. Does anyone know if the young turks are streaming again tonight?
Honestly, being college educated and holding a profession in the STEM fields while living in a rural area, you're conflating two things. College education doesn't make somebody smart. It makes smart people prepared for certain fields. There aren't many of any people with low IQs that go to college and get smart. On the converse, you have people that are extremely smart that work in fields that don't require a college education. I lived in the elitist areas of Chicago for 10 years. Many of these "intelligent" people that were able to earn a paper saying they graduated university. These people weren't "smart" in many cases. They could read a book, memorize it, and take a test showing they remembered it. On the other side, you have a farmer that has a high school degree, no post secondary, that can tear down and rebuild a $400,000 combine. Your suggestion that education makes somebody smart is arrogance based on a completely false synopsis. A piece of paper doesn't make somebody smart, and I can tell you first hand, there are alot of really really stupid people in your "intelligent zones".
This is what VA is showing now... Trump is pulling ahead according to the numbers. Trump has gained 107k since I last posted this and Biden has only gained 84k. The "20pt lead" that Biden has is down to 19.20
It's always driven me crazy, too. I laughed in 2000 when they called Florida for Gore and then oops, Bush, and then oops, Gore and then oops, let's go count chads. That's the last time I remember them being wrong.
Or is it that they've just never made the connection between their politics and the untenable conditions they ran away from?
I found the answer thanks to my New York Times subscription. Biden got, as of this moment, some 13 Electoral Votes and Trump got nothing.
I know. Weird isn't it? It's almost as if Silver is admitting that month after month of polling declaring Biden way ahead of Trump across the board was . . . wrong. It's almost as if on the last day all the data is getting 'adjusted' to reflect genuine reality . . . despite all those leftist posters telling us that this time around that . . . would . . . not . . . happen.
That doesn't answer the question. Those pictures are showing what is currently counted and the count does not show a 20 point lead.
Beer. I don't usually drink except for Friday happy hour, but seeing a light blue Texas....think I'll pop open a Lone Star.
It's obviously just a typing mistake. That lead is trump's lead. 78% reported. Or am I reading this wrong? Edit I'm confused now!
Um . . . trust all the polling that up 'til now has said that conservatives CAN'T possibly be correct?
North Carolina up to almost 70% in.... next battleground state to be called.. Cunningham outperforming Biden...
Same as 2016. Change the numbers as they happen. Silver will be 100% correct by the time all the votes are counted. LOL
The data does popular vote, not electoral votes. The polls had Hillary at 2% and that's how much she won in the PV. And yes, I understand that the PV doesn't decide the election.
Forget them, Rachel Maddow of MSNBC is the one to watch. In 2016 her breakdown on air was a classix. On the other hand it's possible that she heavily medicated herself tonight . . . just in case.
President Trump looks to be headed to a 3+% win in Florida. 538 expected him to lose by 2.5%, so ... a 5.5+% swing in President Trump's favor.
Dude, be patient, not all the votes are in, this is going to take at least a few more hours, enjoy the excitement.
