Excellent article about the telling of trans stories:

    https://www.bustle.com/p/a-forthcom...ant-conversation-about-trans-stories-15956807

    Snip:

These revelations about Levy's novel prompted many trans writers to tweet about their expertise, both in writing about Barry and living as a trans person. In their comment to Bustle, Stoeve says: "Why was a cis person given a contract to write a book about a trans person, in which she entirely revises his identity to suit her own interpretation, when there are plenty of trans writers and historians who could tell this story? Why didn't cis people catch the transphobic dogwhistles in her premise?

Will transphobic RW bigots use this important conversation as an opportunity to attack the LGBTQ community?

What drives both the extreme bigotry of RW homophobes/transphobes, and also the insensitivity of some in the LGBTQ community?

What can be done to enlighten well-meaning supporters of the LGBTQ community, and address the twisted hatred of morally sick transphobes in the cesspool of RW extremism?

    Great topic.

Sometimes (when it comes to the Anti-LGBT stuff) I don't really know if the RW believes it (sincerely) or they are just trying to score points with the RW Echo Chamber.

    An interesting discussion nonethless.

    1) you said it was an 'important conversation', which ... lols, but no it isn't. it's about the least important conversation there is. you are aware, I take it, that there are children starving to death, wars being fought, terrible diseases not yet cured, and other actual problems in the world?

    2) what can be done is; people with dysphorias being treated for their adjustment disorders, instead of being given fuel for their symptoms.

The term transphobia is Orwellian propaganda.

Cis people can write about trans characters in the same way trans people can write about cis characters. This effort to divide people by identity has historically led to mass graves behind the chemical sheds.

Is that the euphemism these days for questioning whether having your private parts cut off is a good idea?

    Enlighten? You mean normalize it?
OK, then a Black man transforming into a White man should be considered good and normal too then. We shouldn't turn our backs on the transracial movement.
