Interesting, for the first time in my life time, Indian reservations in California went with Trump.

There is some truth in the fact that the craziest of the liberali do think that just throwing money alone at a problem will make it go away. I live there, voted for her and I am very pleased that she won. However the meth heads with the MAGA hats seem pretty upset.

I wouldn't know, I don't associate with meth heads or personally know any.

I can spot them and smell them and that's about it.

 

For the first time in eight years, when Trump's budget came into affect in 2018 the USFS did something that didn't happened under Obama, brush clearing in the National Forest and BLM lands.

Also seen controlled burns being conducted on federal lands that I never saw during Obama's years.

California needs to get back to the basics, maintaining firebreaks, fire roads, clearing brush and controlled burns.

90% of all wildfires in California are man caused.

Time to remove the liberals welcome mat at the border. 40 million people means more fires.

Meth like cocaine or crack or any speed you can smell. The users sweat the poison out of themselves.

Rich liberal cocaine users have hot tubs to get the smelly poison out of their bodies.

Black crack heads and white meth heads remove their shirts and just sweat and you can smell it.

 

Combination of bad water use and poor fire fuel mitigation. We've known for a century that the bulk of the US is meant to burn routinely (every few years or so). Small fires sweeping across the dry grass very quickly tend to not burn the larger trees. But when humans prevent fires for many years, lots of dead plant material, aka fuel builds up, and when a fire catches, it burns hotter, longer and everything in its path.

Additionally, there should be far more of an awareness campaign for folks to clear fire fuels from near their home and around their property. Much of the wildfire prevention that causes these fuel buildups are done in the name of protecting peoples homes. If folks wouldn't leave tall grass, dead trees and piles of combustible refuse around, we could prescribe burnouts to keep wildfires small and relatively harmless.

In the spring we can cut green trees only if they have fallen during the winter. Other than that we can only cut dead trees but only in certain areas. A person has to buy permits and get a BLM map.

 

That's good news about the reservations. They are the people most affected by drugs, alcohol and suicides. The best methods of forest management were taught to us by the Indians, and those methods are not being used in California. The tribes also are, so I am told, troubled by infiltration of MS-13 gang members using the reservations for cover from law enforcement. It makes sense to vote for measures to stop all that rather than encourage it. They are the FIRST nationalists, after all. (I use the word with complements: Gandhi was a nationalist as well; as was Winston Churchill).

 

O I'm aware. If you can smell for lack of a better descriptor "rank ass soaked in chemicals" that's the hard stuff either burning or coming out of their pores.

 

I agree with your comment on defensible space. As far as I know, defensible space campaigns are plentiful and ongoing (a Californian would have to speak to whether California pushes out that education). However, when the fire rages that hot, all the fire-proof building materials and defensible space practices cannot hold up. It is spontaneous combustion from heat, explosions and burning shrapnel. Like all natural disasters, all we can do is mitigate. That begins with thinning out the diseased and dead trees, and clearing the underbrush. Controlled burns, as annoying as they are, help as well.

Here's what's being lost in the conversation: Most fires in California are man-made. That means homeless camps, marijuana-growing camps, meth cookers, recreation of stupid/uneducated city-dwellers, and also power companies. The Paradise fire was believed to be caused by PG&E power lines that came down in the high winds. To me, that is a lack of standard that should have been under inspection of some arm of the state government. Heard on Larry Elder today that these fires alone have put California emissions back to 1990's levels.

Lefties opposed cutting down old trees because birds lived in them, etc.

As is typical with the left, everything they do backfires.

 

And 60% of California's forests are federal and another third are private lands, leaving about 7 or 8% of all forests in California as STATE FORESTS. So the problem is not California's handling of anything and Trump is a lying JERK again. The problem is FEDERAL FUNDING.

I heard on KFI 640 AM yesterday while interviewing some professor from UC Chico who's is supposedly an expert on wildfires that the lefty environmentalist war against logging made things worse for wildfires.

The environmentalist rarely ever get anything right.

 

The two current fires in northern California and southern California are on state land.

The majority of federal land in California is desert, the Mohave Desert (High Desert) and the Sonoran Desert (Low Desert).

Liberals outlawed lead bullets for hunting in California.

Lead free bullets are furious and spark when they hit the ground. Sparks they say will start a fire.

Any hunter using California's politically correct bullets on federal lands (National Forest, BLM land) will be thrown in jail by federal rangers.
