I don't see how this kneeling harms those players playing football.

Those players ask for everybody to give police brutality and racism a second though. I wouldn't know any employer who demands you support police brutality and racism. And indeed... it starts to be fascist when you must comply with racism.

Should never have authorized such monuments in public places.

They should be removed as if the were CSA heroes.

There is a time and a place.
The National Anthem is the time and place to express national unity and pride.
The National Anthem is not the time and place for personal, political expressions.

There are plenty of things wrong about :flagus:
The problem is there is no better nation.

Lololol. Fascist and racism in the same sentence. If I want to protest animal abuse you’d be fine if I chose a way that insults gays or Muslims in the process, right? Otherwise it’s racist and fascist.

They're not my excuses... they are published facts...

    SNIP
Why Kaepernick sat: "I'm going to continue to stand with the people that are being oppressed,” Kaepernick said. “To me, this is something that has to change. When there's significant change and I feel that flag represents what it's supposed to represent, and this country is representing people the way that it's supposed to, I'll stand.

"This stand wasn’t for me. This is because I’m seeing things happen to people that don’t have a voice, people that don’t have a platform to talk and have their voices heard, and effect change. So I’m in the position where I can do that and I’m going to do that for people that can’t."

P.S. I believe some stayed in the tunnel or raised fists as well...

The town can always take a vote to take your statue down.
I'm not sure I can think of a better place to make a statement than TV.
The screaming from the right has turned it into a free speech issue that no owner really wants to touch because they know that is just wrong.
Anyway. Most of them have knee pads so no one is being hurt. :)

Would Kaepernick stand for the Mexican anthem? I think they're a little oppressed.

Let's face it, many on the left would go nuts if a con insults a Mexican or people from shithole countries, but those same people literally defend people who are insulting Americans. I wish the people who really hate America would just come out and say it.

    "FREE SPEECH"

The anthem is aimed at Mexican people.
Haven't you noticed it starts out with Jose can you see? :)

He may find out someday, as I doubt he'll ever play in the NFL again, but who cares... he's not Mexican... He's kneeling (or would be if he were on a team) for his people treated poorly in his country... shouldn't spend too much time worrying about others until your own house is in better shape.

The players have no right to free speech which embarrasses their employer.

If I worked at McDonald's, I can't wear a shirt that says "Burger King has better burgers".

When on the job, play by the rules or quit. Protest on your own time.

Thats always the amusing thing. If you work for a car company and then on social media bash that car company, it could easily be grounds to let you go. If you work for Amazon, but publicly blast it, why would Amazon want to retain someone like yourself? If an Apply employee kept saying MS is better all the time, how long will he last?

I know if I was an embarrassment in public, on work time, while being paid, I would have some major problems. Your behavior on work time is a reflection of who you work for. Seems NFL players think they should be immune from such annoyances. But then again, they don't live in the real world 1/2 the year. They live in fantasy land. Its why I rarely feel pity for those who destroy their lives after they retire from the NFL. It means they were never very bright in the first place and didn't take advantage of the amazing opportunity and privilege they had for 6-10 yrs(average career I believe). Amazing how so many of them toss everything they have away.

Probably true, but they also have a players union which puts the owners in an awkward position.

Can you source your claims about Trump's statements? If one didn't know better, one might mistake you for someone who was very casual with the truth.

I like how they kneel for the cameras only when they're getting paid to do it.

I'm done with the NFL. I don't care if they stop kneeling or not.

huh? their disrespect for the country is harming the NFL's image and bottom line, which, if allowed to continue, will eventually manifest in lower salaries for all players.

the NFL is in the business of making money via entertaining an audience, not moralizing and lecturing.

Americans will put up with a lot from their sports figures....wife beaters, drug abusers/dealers, cheaters, thieves, rapists, even dog killers...they will not put up with a bunch of pampered millionaires (who've never held a real job) disrespecting the country that made their lifestyles possible.

Those two are just like those who served the CSA, not heroes and made a poor decision. In fact those who served the CSA are traitors to their country.

You don't get it because you don't want to get it. They are not disrespecting their country. They are asking for help.

I prefer college football and usually do not watch until the playoffs so we will see if they are still taking a knee.
