Yes, as long as John McCain has a breath in his body it will be an ever expanding alliance.

    A. Well... O-ok, I will not make any statements. Just will humbly nod, and move in depth of night - where I belong at 3:39 AM.

One another thing about our music, that is rather peculiar - is bards, romances and shanson - and how they all took a new meanings and got popular among public.

I know, there may be slightly less people who play guitar nowadays - generation ago there literally was one-two people playing it in any group of friends or relatives, and I know for sure my grandmother, my uncle by father and my other uncle's wife had/have notebooks, full of songs. It would've been really interesting to check them - if I ever get to find my grandmother's notebook, or borrow one from living relatives. Wonder how many of them came from famous singers, bards, poets - and how many literally come from obscure or unknown authors and just passed from person to person.

In Russia today is "April 1". Of course, this is a "fool's day" all over the world, but, in my opinion, only in Russia this day is celebrated so long ago and on such a scale :D Today forums, blogs and news agencies are full of fake news. On the sites a lot of jokes and humor. In real life, there are a lot of deceptions, funny and not very ... I completely stop reading news on this day, and on forums I talk only on different fun and funny topics :) The most interesting is that despite many years of such experience (I remember April Fools' Day Jokes in the Soviet press!), Many people take, for example, fake news in earnest and repost them a long time later. Therefore, after seeing some strange news, it will take a long time to look at the date of its writing :)

I once saw fresh bear trails in the forest in the middle zone of Russia. My grandmother somehow collided with a bear, when in the forest raspberries gathered. The bear also ate raspberries. Grandmother with a fright ran in one direction, a bear with a fright at another :)

But one of my cousin grandfathers on the bear hunt died. He went alone with a double-barreled gun. And with two shots the bear did not finish off. The deadly wounded bear killed the hunter. They were then found dead, lying together.

Earlier I already wrote, with what interest I draw attention to the difference of polysemantic words in different languages. Now I remember another example of the Russian language, when the polysemy may be of interest to foreign users :)

In Russian, the words "marriage" and "production defect" ("spoilage"?) are denoted by one word - "брак" ("brak") :)

What do these two meanings have different etymologies. "Brak" in the meaning of "marriage" is derived from the ancient Russian verb "brat'" = "to take". But "brak" in the meaning of "inappropriate products" comes from the Pragerman word "brekan", from which, by the way, the English "break" happens :)

By the way, why don't we compare Russian culture and American culture? Do you think The Beatles is an American groupe?

Well, to be honest - the bears topic started as 1st April joke, but generally - it highly depends on environment. As example, I live in Zelenograd. A pretty much urban city, de jure part of Moscow (started as first city if project of circle of satellite-cities, that was abandoned after founding Zelenograd. A long story), yet built on previously uncultivated, pretty much wild land - with massive forests and wetlands. Some animals, that lived in the area, were slow to abandon it. Most of large animals left, and it is said that we only have stable populations of hares, squirrels and hedgehogs and such living whithin the city and close around it - area of 'Zelenograd forest park'.
    https://ru.wikipedia.org/wiki/Зеленоградский_лесопарк
When city was built, parts of wild forests - including the ones surrounded by newly built city blocks - were left relatively untouched, and used as recreational park areas. Considering lush amounts of trees whithin blocks, squirrels and birds have no problem moving through town, while hares moved to outstricts, and hedgehogs, shrews and moles live literally in areas between urban blocks, only being sometimes disturbed by dogs - though, majority of dog owners keep animals on leash and prevent from going after critters, and the street dogs today are a rare sight - there has been a campaign against their packs in 2000th, so most of packs were captured.

...which does not changes fact, that we still have once in a few years a moose walking on a chausee and getting hit by a car, or even going straight into an urban block.

So, I guess same goes for bears - in some areas they are more bold - or impudent - and go to places where people live, for one reason, or other. For example, nobody hunts animals around Zelenograd, since it was founded. I guess that may be kinda attracting mooses here..? Or, maybe, urbanization of area does not disturbs them that much.

Strictly speaking, I believe, for example, that the US culture differs from the culture of Greece more than the culture of Greece from the culture of Russia.

I believe that making comparisons in musical culture is a pointless thing :) The truly talented performers are falling out of the traditions of their country. Beatles is, of course, a British band. As I think. But not because the Beatles correspond to the British, not American culture. The Beatles are so superior to the national culture that they themselves began to shape this culture :)

I've a different opinion. Greek culture is Greek one only. Do you dilute wine with water? I think, no :) But many peole not from America created American Jazz and many people not from Russia created Russian Literature.

I think that The Beatles are British guys, but an American band. They sang American songs and were created by American producers. For Americans :) . The same case is Vladimir Nabokov. He was a Russian, but wrote novels in an American maner.

I would say that our cultures are created by many nations.

You will not believe! In the summer, in the heat, I dilute! :D

In fact, I did not just choose Greece as an example. Greece brought Orthodox faith to Russia, which had a very, very strong impact on Russian culture :) Even the Russian alphabet, the Cyrillic alphabet, is derived from Greek. If it were not for the Greek influence (both directly and through Byzantium), then Russia would be much more like Europe.

As I wrote above, it's very difficult to argue about music of this level. From the side, I see the Beatles, still, much more British than American. But this is a subjective assessment.

It seems, I wrote already above, that the Russian culture is basically just a mixture of a huge number of foreign cultures. Aboriginal Slavic traditions and features we have almost no left :) Even in Russian, more than half the words are taken from other languages.

Of course, American and even British cultures are also subject to the great influence of other cultures. Especially American, as many people from other countries moved to America. Including from Russia :)
