This incident in El Paso was a terror attack, no question about it. Fact remains though that as mass shootings go, in the technical sense, blacks outpace whites by a huge margin... that's not even taking into account the disparity in population.

 

Difference is liberals aren't egging on the gangs. Trump stokes this hatred, and we may have finally reached a tipping point.

My family spent nearly 200 years in West Virginia and western North Carolina (father's side - mom's side) before heading west to El Paso, the Llano Estacado, and finally the Phoenix Metro. I have family throughout the entire South and Southwest.

Plugging myself into a historical context has been extremely enlightening, which is NOT what a younger me would have imagined. What has surprised me is that this has tugged me left, not right. During this process I've gone from a libertarian to a leftist-populist.

Slowly but surely Texas is going blue. This shooter **** knew that, and made it an important point in his manifesto.

Texas has been a major political and economic boon to our people, and you can understand why Texas becoming something foreign is troubling, especially if it weakens our own political strength.

But there are other ways of reacting to this. The truth is that Northern Mexicans, who I see our Southwestern Latinos is being most akin to culturally, have a great number of values in common with our own people. I would like to see a new political coalition formed around economic populism, the kind that dominated the politics of our people during the late-19th and early 20th centuries.

 

Probably a good reason to replace the hot weather .380 with something a little bigger.

Yep! But I like a society where it is more difficult for bad people to get weapons of mass shooting. You are in a civil arms race. You feel you need a gun because the “bad guys” have guns and so the violence level cycles ever upwards
