... not by left wing media and gun grabbers, but by their own NRA leadership.

Interesting tape released from a discussion of how the NRA would handle their annual convention after the Columbine school shooting.

    https://www.npr.org/2021/11/09/1049...-shows-the-nras-evolution-on-school-shootings

NRA officials are heard using derogatory terms for the more activist of gun owners, such as hillbillies, nuts, fruitcakes, idiots. Seems like the NRA leadership doesn't think very highly of some of their more extreme members, although they are still happy to take their membership money.

This is actually very interesting, because the NRA leadership seems to argue with some common sense, rather than based only on ideology. Unfortunately, the hard line argument still won the day. I guess they have to cater to the members who pay the bills, and ideology runs high in the membership ranks.

I’ll say without question there are some idiots and hillbillies and other freaks that own guns. And forks, and candles and a million other objects that don’t describe or portray the owner accurately. It’s the causation-correlation thing.

The NRA is a whole doesn't matter. They never really do anything that has much of an effect.

The people that help gun manufacturers the most are Democrats.

They get elected they make hollow threats of gun control and gun sales soar.

If gun manufacturers lobby anybody it's Democrats and most certainly not the NRA.

Seems more like they were joking around. But I guess something like that would trigger the left so they want to know why the right isn't triggered?
Whats next? Maybe something else from the same time frame like a blazing saddles script? :roflol:

There are certainly some weird sovereign citizen people out there, most people with a lot of guns just have an interest in the topic, like people who own a lot of Ferraris.

You do realize how much gun control legislation was supported by the NRA don’t you? I’m a huge gun supporter and have over 40k in value of guns. I would never support the NRA. I support groups like GOA. Best group ever. The NRA are a for profit in my opinion and I hope they sink.
