If they do that America will respond by continuing the divided government in the next election. This is decision time for democrats in congress. Do they litigate or legislate.

Translation: Dems will do the job Republicans refused to do. The Republicans abdicated their sworn duty, the Dems will not......

They've laid all their eggs in the impeachment basket, constituents won't settle for nothing less. They want blood.

They could effectively do both. That’s their job.

They won back the house by avoiding impeachment as an issue. However if Mueller’s report produces evidence of collusion, money laundering, tax evasion or obstruction they would be expected to impeach. We will see.

If Stormy had been paid off when she should have (in the year or so following the affair), I'd totally agree.

But if Michael Cohen is going to be sentenced to likely prison time for doing it, it's an actual crime and all involved should receive similar results, shouldn't they? Nobody is saying Trump should be indicted for that (well, some are and they are probably correct), but if Cohen is proven correct, I certainly think that's an impeachable offense...

Below in bold is the significance of the vote yesterday, to me....

    SNIP
But if Cohen’s testimony did little to illuminate the nature of Trump’s malfeasance, it did throw the congressional GOP’s complicity in that malfeasance into sharp relief. The president might be immune from criminal indictment, but he is not supposed to be immune from legal culpability of any kind. Rather, Congress is supposed to police the Executive branch’s alleged crimes and misdemeanors. It is now clear that there is probable cause to believe that the president has committed a felony. If we are “a nation of laws,” then Congress must now mount an investigation into Trump’s alleged campaign finance violations — and, if evidence substantiates that allegation, impeach the president so that he can then be held accountable for his crime in a federal court, just as any other American would be.

Considering the Senate would not convict that would be a foolish move.

This was just a few days ago.

Maxine Waters one-two punch: Win midterm, ‘get’ Trump in 2020 — or with impeachment
    NOVEMBER 6, 2018
    BY KYLE OLSON

Maxine Waters was campaigning in Harbor City, California on Saturday when a voter told her he already cast his ballot for her.
“It is absolutely sickening,” she continued, “and so, if we’re strong in the midterm, we can get him out in 2020.

“You know, I want him impeached if I can just get them to follow me,” she said of her Democrat colleagues who may soon have that power

The only reason that Cohen pled guilty to those charges is because Mueller had him over a barrel for more serious crimes. In order to impeach Trump, Mueller will have to give Congress evidence of conspiracy to collude, money laundering, tax evasion or obstruction. It would not surprise me if Mueller has evidence of one or more of these crimes.

Hashing over the evidence against Trump for months in nationally televised impeachment hearings would help whatever candidates who choose or are chosen to run against Trump in 2020. If there is enough dirt, I would not be surprised if a serious GOP primary opponent or two emerges. Maybe Romney or Kasich. At any rate, if there is evidence of any crimes against Trump, impeachment is a definite possibility.

Maybe, but we don't know that... SDNY got the current pleas from Cohen. I'm sure those 2 groups are working with each other, but we still have no idea what Mueller has on Cohen (on any of the items you list above)....

I disagree with your sentence that only Mueller can provide the evidence that will start impeachment, but I do agree it's possible Mueller has more than enough to precipitate impeachment hearings...

Big deal. Waters was calling for impeachment before the inauguration. No surprise here.

They Dems invented the 28th District with Schiffty's assist, turning it into 95% Dem. At one time, it was a solid Republican district.

I assumed with the link and visual it wouldn't be so was so challenging to understand.

Well, it does not surprise me that an overwhelmingly Democratic state legislature would counter the mega gerrymandering done nationwide by the GOP with a little of their own. Looks like Rohrbacher and Knight might go down too. There is no joy in Moscow today.

And your snotty little comment was out of line. I understand that you might be a little cranky this morning, but don’t take it out on me...lol

Well, at least Trump doesn’t control both houses anymore and Nunez will be relegated to getting coffee for Schiff.

California's power across the country is significant. Not surprising you wouldn't know that.

With 53 gerrymandered districts and reps in the House, they have more voting power than multiple states combined. They have almost twice the number of House members as New York.

So this whine from the uninformed regarding gerrymandering is just BS.

And Adam Schiffty is one of the brown nosing POS's that knows his seat is the result of gerrymandering, while screaming about Gerrymandering from Republican's in states with 7 seats in the House.

And there were actual felonies in a federal court and a federal grand jury.

Benghazi was an investigation into the State Department and its handling of a terrible event and only took so long because of the obfuscation of the Obama administration and Clinton and her staffs efforts to destroy evidence.

Good, California deserves to have as much power as we can. Hopefully we can use it to help the rest of the nation to achieve our economic greatness. We have been carrying a bunch of trailer park states on our backs for decades. We should have at least 10 US Senators too. We have more people than both Dakotas, Nebraska, Kansas, Wyoming and Idaho combined. If you don’t like it here you should go to one of those hell holes and buy a couple Senators.
