This Brigadier I was talking to this afternoon (about this matter) is a one star general, known here as a Brigadier. Above that rank, there are two stars, three stars etc.

I am sure those yellow ribbons on the sleeve have some colloquial name. Hardly 'four ribbon' Captain...but the Brigadier had a name for them. Not worth ringing him back to find out.

So what? Is that your argument? That the top levels of our government and of our world wide crushing military capabilities treat the commander, the captain of one of our ten Nimitz Class Carriers as, to quote you, "just one of thousands", when in fact as I just pointed out, this situation is 1 of 10? You haven't read the thread - or at least certainly not my posts in this thread. So you are probably unaware that the Admiral of the Pac Fleet had a bullshit plan to decon the ship that is now toast thanks to Crozier. Read my posts please before you come at me again. Trump and my TDS is well in back of the **** at this point....

I'm not sure of that colloquial name other than full bird - but that is mostly an Army phrase, maybe also Marines: both of which carry the title of Colonel for an O6. An O6 US Naval officer is called a Captain and I'm out of my element to know if the Navy uses "full bird" or has some other term for the rank. To add confusion, I think, with the Navy, regardless of rank, the commanding officer of a ship is also referred to as the Captain of the Ship. So there's that as well.

The US military is comprised of more than 10 ships, there are three whole other branches as well. You are simply clueless and so bound up in Trump hate to be taken seriously...

Its simply unrealistic to think Trump is personally active in day to day operations of any ships, regardless of how many there are. Besides the military he has the rest of the executive under his purview. Do you think Trump is involved in the day to day operations for our embassy in Sweden? There's only one of those, to use your logic...

You are comparing consideration of an embassy to that of one of our Nimitz Class Carriers? That sir, is not even two orders of magnitude within the MOE of my logic. Have a nice Sunday my friend.

What he was saying is up there so many departments and agencies within the executive branch that trump doesn't Oversee the day-to-day operations A navy captain reports to a one star Admiral who in turn reports to a 2 star and the 3 star and so on and so on Trump doesn't directly oversee a captain of a naval aircraft Carrier

I get it. When the US Military takes out an ISIS baddie, as CIC, Humpty Trumpty takes the credit. When a four ribbon plus star Captain of a US Nimitz class nuclear Carrier gets removed...nothing to do with Trumpty. See how it works? :)

Back to the O6 argument then. Tiresome it is that you and your argumentative allies in this thread continue to negate that command authority issues regarding a Nimitz Class Carrier deserves the attention of the SecDef and CnC under the threat of a pandemic threat to operational capability.

Well, I believe it should. POTUS/CIC ought to be all over any and every cluster outbreak of this nasty, especially on a ship....and more especially on a naval ship. (Gee, I wonder whether it was just Capt. Crozier's carrier infected?) It is not as though we do not know that the 'passengers' of many ships have been responsible for national spikes. Google "Ruby Princess," for an example. Heads will roll down here over that.

Are you saying diplomacy is secondary to an aircraft carrier? Wow...

I get it. When obozo the clown fired a highly decorated 4 star theater commander General Stanley McChrystal who the Sec of Defense called "perhaps the finest warrior and leader of men in combat I ever met" for privately calling the corrupt senile rapist "joe bite me" it was perfectly okay, and not a peep of criticism from the left.
But, let a line officer (that what the star on the sleeve indicates) who broke the chain of command by not going to his commander that was on the same ship & broke protocol for not securing communication the left go into hysterics running around with your hair on fire.. smh ...

I just can't take the left as serious accept as a threat to the security of the US.

Which is why he should have been removed from command does that escape you? Imagine Admiral Spruance telling Admiral Nimitz "sorry I'm not sailing my ship out to Midway it might endanger my sailors we'll be out numbered"

No, you changed the subject from an Embassy to the much broader category of diplomacy.

The US Navy's 10 Nimitz Class Carriers and our Nuclear Deterrent Submarine Fleet is now exposed for not having a plan to maintain the health of their crews faced with CV19.

Part of the reason for this just might be the Twitter'er in Chief inserting himself into UCMJ decisions that Ike himself would not have done. As a result we have yet more turnover that now includes the SecNav - currently staffed by a temporary appointee.

But since you mention diplomacy, I don't think it behooves you to start down a path that includes the US Department of State in support of your support of the Donald. Google this phrase, "State Department Staffing under Trump" and see the results Sir.

From this particular article, Then in April 2018 the department disbanded the teams in charge of overseeing the reforms and delegated responsibilities to bureaus and offices for implementation.

Less leadership and more delegation - you see the pattern here?

All those Ds that served in the military are a threat to the security of the US? Given that so very few have served in the military, I am curious, have you?

Stan McChrystal, I'd love to know his opinion on the Donald. Here however is one he provided on HRC, https://www.huffpost.com/entry/stanley-mcchrystal-hillary-clinton_n_5367561

Hahaha, edited to include GO GOOGLE IT SIR! "Stanley McChrystal Donald Trump" Hint - He's not a fanboy to say the least.

Commanded a lot of Nimitz Class Carriers have you? Reminds me of Ripley's line at the beginning of Aliens about IQs, hahaha. Modified in Captain Crozier's case to, "Sir, I already explained that we are not at war"

Did you read the letter? https://www.documentcloud.org/documents/6821571-TR-COVID-19-Assistance-Request.html#document/p1
