    We will never know.
The political Supreme Court killed the recount.

Hmm... So, Gore believes FL is going under (the waves that is). Fine. Have democrats introduce a bill in the US House and Senate to resettle all of coastal US. See how that goes. I'll start popping the pop corn and stocking the liquor cabinet........

Forget Florida, look at Al Gore's home state of Tennessee. The people who knew him best. If Al Gore had carried Tennessee, Florida would be irrelevant. Clinton/Gore carried it twice. Look at Arkansas, Bill Clinton's home state. Clinton/Gore carried it twice, Gore lost Arkansas also. Clinton/Gore also carried Louisiana and Kentucky twice. Gore lost both. Clinton/Gore carried Ohio twice, Gore lost Ohio, etc etc.

With the exception of Florida, Gore won all the close states. States where the margin of victory was less than 1% (55 electoral votes):

    1. Florida, 0.0092% (tipping point state)
    2. New Mexico, 0.061%
    3. Wisconsin, 0.22%
    4. Iowa, 0.31%
    5. Oregon, 0.44%
But the bottom line is Florida shouldn't have mattered. To be president, all Gore had to do was carry his home state. His own people in his own home state rejected him. That should tell everyone something.

This is the stuff you just can't make up. Because no one would believe that anyone would write anything like this in public. It's so unexpected. These little gems are so organic, so heart felt, and so demonstrative of just how willing some are to promote the most baseless of assertions, sans any citation of support on the hopes that someone will be swayed by their fabrications. It's oh so much better than cable...

Gore just ignores every single statewide recount. The only way he wins is if you only recount Dem strongholds, and you make allowances that assume that most voters intended to vote for Gore if there is no definitive vote marked (i.e. the chads not punched through). Gore is not only a hypocrite (three houses, the one in Nashville being over 10,000 sq feet for a single man), but now is delusional as well.

All the statewide recounts done after the election showed Bush won. The only ones that didnt' were the recounts that only recounted dem strongholds. Bush won.
Also, the media corrupted the election as well, by calling Florida for Gore, while polls were still open in the most Republican part of the state (the Panhandle).

Palm Beach county at the time was run by democrats. It was a democrat official, Theresa LePore, who designed those ballots.

Because the Republicans only win by cheating. Pretty simple. I wish the Dems would start playing by the same rules that the Rescrublican party does. It would be a different landscape.

Theresa LePore, Democrat, is a former Supervisor of Elections for Palm Beach County, Florida. She is most notable as the person who designed the infamous "butterfly ballot", used in the 2000 presidential election.[1] This would lead the press to nickname her "Madame Butterfly." Following the controversial results of the 2000 election, she lost her re-election bid in September 2004 and left office in January 2005.

There was a whole gang of dems come down from Chicago and the ballots were counted like 5 times and at no time did Al Gore ever have the lead. Had he wanted to win so badly, he should've tried harder to win his own state of Tenn. Had he won Tenn. he'd have been the pres.
    End of story.

Because it been recounted 5 or 6 times. The Dems wanted to keep counting hoping for a different result, but at no time was Gore ever ahead.

How did Trump do in New York and New Jersey, the two states that know him the best?

Look at the bright side. If Gore had won we might not have had Obama.

    Thanks righties!

Now they have given us a Nazi. That will be the death of them.

Trump as far as I'm concerned has no business being president, neither did Hillary Clinton. That is a case where two wrongs produced a President Trump. But yes, I agree if what you mean Trump has no business being president because he lost his home state of New York.

When Al Gore says we need to get big money out of Washington. He is saying we need to get big money that contradicts his big money out of Washington. Let's be clear about that.

Surprisingly, I am with Sam on that one. And really, in spite of the fact that I believe that Gore would have been a better president than Pres. Bush (43), Bush won the election of 2000, this is how history records it and I see absolutely no reason to go and have to rehash this **** all over again. Really, don't we have more important things to do? Gore is silly and stupid to keep harping on whether or not he won Florida - he could have challenged the SCOTUS ruling in December 2000, but he did not. End of story. And yes, Gore has connections with big money. But that argument is pretty silly on all sides, no matter what your political preference is: money makes the world go around. Want to further your cause? Well then, you need money to do it, plain and simple.

And just to be clear: I strongly disagreed with Pres. Bush's (43's) decision to go to war in Iraq and indeed, the quagmire that has resulted is exactly what I was predicting would happen in 2003-2004, back when it was not popular to dissent about the war. But as people, I have always found Pres. Bush, former-FLOTUS Laura and their two lovely daughters to be a kind, loving and classy family and I really think that deep-down, Bush is a man of deep convictions and truly decent. How nice it was to have 16 years (the Bush administration, the Obama administration) completely free of sex-scandals in the White House and with two very normal, fully functioning families. Same thing for Pres. Obama, former FLOTUS-Michelle and their two lovely daughters. Both first families were absolute class-acts and how refreshing it was to experience this. I never once questioned Bush's patriotism or love of country, not did I ever do that with Obama.

Now, compare that to the crap we have to see in the White House day in and day out in 2017. The contrast is very, very stark. Makes me wanna puke my guts out.
