Well, again, I don't think those are actually "his views". But yeah, I'm sure such sentiment would get some votes everywhere, not just in easy to look down on places like Alabama. It's not like this guy campaigned on killing the gays, though.

I'm a liberal who grew up in the south and has lived and traveled all around this country. I am here to tell you there are village idiots everywhere. The south doesn't have a monopoly on them.
