You could be less of a drama queen, too. Her state of mind is debatable, and if I was as partisan as you say I am I would be praying that she croaked tomorrow instead of suggesting that she should have retired while Obama could have replaced her with another Leftist justice.
Nowhere in the Constitution does it give people the right to kill their unborn baby. Nowhere in the Constitution does it prohibit people from killing their unborn baby. Abortion is not a Federal issue. It's a states rights issue. Repeal Roe vs. Wade and let the states decide.
I'm not against science. I love science. I just don't like the lie from the left-wingers who claim that the world is going to end because of mankind. Stop with the fearmongering.
12% said that concerns for their own health was a reason, 13% also said the concerns for the health of the fetus were a reason, so that is a total of 25% according to the source you'd like to use. And yet the statement I made is still accurate. 100% of abortions are conducted because health reasons play some role, even if it is not a reason that they gave in response to this survey. To pretend that health played zero role is to ignore the following fact: In the best of circumstances, a pregnancy is a 9 month long ordeal of flu-like symptoms that results in swelling, inflammation, mood swings, nausea, loss of urinary control, severe pain, and a whole host of other medical symptoms.
It is a basic fact that pregnancies, in the best of circumstances, are still uncomfortable at a minimum, and deadly at its most serious. If you are not thinking about the health implications of carrying that fetus to full term, then you need an education ASAP.
It's getting absurd. This is turning into a contest to see who can waste the most taxpayer money litigating extreme pro and anti abortion bills that don't stand a prayer of surviving court challenges. The bill Kathy Tran tried to push here in Virginia had no more chance of survival than the bill that is coming out of Alabama now.
Equating a picture of Ginsburg sleeping to a photo of Rehnquist dying is quite overdramatic, thank you.
This "law"is headed for the Supreme Court which is exactly what Alabama and a lot of redneck, bible thumping states have in mind. They just know that their new saint and saviour, Justice Kavanaugh, will toss Roe v. Wade. The problem is, Kavanaugh has already shown himself not to be driven by some right or left wing ideology. Most justices (Thomas is an exception) are not so driven. The Court is smart enough to evaluate unintended consequences of their rulings and this one would be a doozie. Roe will stand as settled law.
Not only does this Alabama law eliminate the freedom of choice for women regarding pregnancy, but it also eliminates the right of a woman to freely choose to seek services in another state, and bans the freedom of others to advise a pregnant woman on such options. The Republican crocodile tears over "freedom" is obviously a partisan and false argument that is used when it serves them and is abandoned when that serves them.
They should have included rape and incest, idiots. Then it could be medical necessity (maternal physiological health), rape and incest. The only form which would then be outlawed is convenience abortion.
No matter. It's nobody's business but the woman. Perfectly healthy teeth are extracted for health and for choice. Perfectly healthy hair is cut by choice. Many things are done to remove health cells on choice. And it's none of your business nor that of Republicans.
If you can't discuss this rationally without hysterics and accusations, you get no discussion from me.
Or we will see the ERA (Equal Rights Amendment) passed like it should have been the first time. Neither most men and especially most women don't want to see Roe overturned. The bill has the backing of vociferous religious fanatics but they have very little hope in elections where the people decide
Where are the rights of women who get raped by their own father? Currently all these white men demand those people must suffer their entire lives, not to mention their entire pregnancy. Ever heard of cruel and unusual punishment? This is simply horrific.
Are you female? Have you carried children? I guarantee that pregnancy for MANY women is utterly glorious. A rare and very very special experience. One we often wish we could keep doing forever .. that's how good it is. As for 'health implications', that's easily determined by a medical practitioner. If pregnancy is contra-indicated, it should be terminated on medical grounds.
True to form, Trump fans have given no thought to the outcomes of their actions. Unintended consequences are like a strange concept descendant from Mars. I cannot imagine a more divisive and perilous action than to overturn Roe.
No it does not. It needs to include rape and incest, but apart from that there is no impost upon female choice whatsoever. Every woman is entirely free to choose not to risk a pregnancy.
