Watching TV here in SF area is like watching an airplane crash. They are alarmed about so many things. They have recentlyl alarmed me and no doubt others over a chemical that is the base of Roundup. Roundup kills weeds. People for decades have counted on it to exterminate weeds. They would be nuts to spray it on themselves. But even then, how often per year do they spray the chemical on weeds? Done daily, perhaps that is a problem. Yearly, probably no problem to any of us. EPA has long kept an eye on this and published limits. And their limits are 100 to 1000 times lower than what they truly believe to be harmful. Anyway, you can check it out. I will give one piece of information to help. I do not plan to stop eating Cheerios. Why not? My doctor said it is a good and safe cereal to eat. until he told me that, I was seldom eating Cheerios. I do not eat them daily though.
Cancer rates are increasing because of the level of chemicals in foods that we consume, well, that's my theory. I don't find cereals filling or really nutritional. Now and then I'll go through a porridge oats phase but will often have scrambled egg and raw smoked Salmon in a morning.
All in all, I believe the American diet is regular. Walk down the aisle in your grocery store and notice the enormous shelf of cereals. Also, do not worry. Life expectancy is rapidly rising in America.
