Doesn’t matter, still a negligent discharge and manslaughter.

 

Baldwin is different in that he is a notoriously vicious human being.

 

When handling a gun of any kind... Treat it like it is loaded... Don't be an Alec.

Baldwin is well known for being vicious. And it took a bullet to kill the woman that died plus hurt a different person, a man who still may have serious injuries. They have not reported that the man is now okay.

Mr. Baldwin also has a history of run-ins with the police.

In 2014, he was arrested after he rode his bicycle the wrong way on Fifth Avenue near 16th Street in Manhattan. Officers charged him with disorderly conduct after they said he became belligerent.

In 2019, Mr. Baldwin pleaded guilty to harassment in Manhattan Criminal Court and agreed to take an anger management course in a deal with prosecutors to dispose of charges that he had assaulted a man during a dispute over a parking spot.

I am not positive but tend to doubt he shot himself with blanks.

 

Most of you never fired a blank. A blank is called a blank because rather than a bullet be in the ammo, a paper wad is there. A tiny bit of hard paper.

 

One female dead, one male seriously hurt.

Worse than one hurt by a blank by far. Two shots makes it way more serious.

Ever heard of "muzzle blast".....Mr. Hexum sure did, and it was the last thing he ever heard....of course putting the muzzle to ones head and pulling the trigger can never have a good end, blanks or no. And yes, I have fired blanks, following the same safety rules as if they were live rounds.

 

An accidental killing on the set of a movie about an accidental killing. Weird psyche knot for Baldwin on top of the grief of death because Baldwins character is defending his Son who is accused of murder in an accidental killing. To be fair, even firearm safety instructors have accidents resulting in injury and death.

None, but if you are shooting a Western and roll around in the dirt with a shotgun a rock could end up in there. It is only the theory, which I present while waiting for the facts to come out.

In the Bruce Lee case, it was a wad and firing that close caused the wad to enter is belly much like a bullet.

 

I read there was an actual bullet lodged in the barrel, and the blank round fired it into him.

With the other actor who shot himself in the head, there was only the paper wad, but the discharge was strong enough to kill him.

 

I point mine at paper targets all the time, but I know what you mean.

His claim some have wooden or plastic plugs is correct. So Alex has less excuse for aiming it at two people than if it was just paper.

Something similar happened years ago. My friend's daughter lost a classmate because her dad was cleaning his gun and something discharged and killed her instantly.

The strange part of this is under NO circumstances should a person point a weapon at someone if the intent is not to kill them. It's a rock solid rule every police officer is taught. You don't do it when cleaning your weapon. You don't do it in jest. You never ever ever point a weapon at someone unless you are prepared to take a life (and that is only if your own life or your loved one's lives are in imminent danger.

 

Blanks have nothing to do with this case.

That being said, killing oneself with a blank is quite difficult. If you pul a gun to your head with no flash suppressor, the hot gases have to go somewhere and if your head is the only place it can go . . .

 

Alec Baldwin was a producer of that film, meaning one of the bosses.
Alec understood even blanks have killed depending on how the prop gun was fired.
Alec knew what he did was dangerous.
Yet Alec Baldwin did it just the same, with no thought he would kill a woman on the set. And severely injure a man there as well

 

The actor killing himself was killed by his own skull penetrating his brain. But he has nothing at all to worry about now.
