The first three on your list were only elected by white, property-owning males, which kind of included an IQ test in the property-owning part. Ownership of property as a voting qualification was rescinded by Lincoln's day, but he only won 40% of the vote. Theodore Roosevelt was elected when most women still couldn't vote. FDR never would have won election without the votes of the millions of Irish and Italians who had immigrated into the country between 1880 and 1920. I suggest property ownership should be re-instituted as a kind of shorthand for IQ. AOC couldn't have run for office since she wouldn't have even been allowed to register to vote.
"Do I have to give that $2 million illegal PAC campaign donation back or couldn't I just give it to a save the whales charity?
"If I could just adopt all the endangered whales, I would give them all a home.
"If we could just save all the whales dying and choking on plastic, gather them up by putting them on a plantation, um - no , I mean a fish farm"
Really? This must be comic relief. This is literally the dumbest post from start to finish I have read on this forum. Property ownership is sorta like an IQ test and an IQ test is needed for voting but not an actual IQ test, but the property ownership as a substitute. I am supposed to engage with someone who asserts that? Not happening.
Do you think maybe this is the wrong thread lol or at least quote the post you respond to if not.
Re-edited for clarity.
If that's how you read it, that makes you the dumb one. Literacy tests, etc., have been ruled unconstitutional by the Supreme Court, but a property-owning requirement has not. Plus requiring property ownership would decrease the numbers of young people and the numbers of welfare queens voting, both good things.
