What a petty little thread you guys have put together!

I wonder how manybof you could quit your job to campaign for election for months and continue to have money to immediately move to DC before your Congressional salary kicks in.

Of course even the OP’s link states she’s saved up money to make it January, albeit hopefully. Her announcement to run came last May, so she’s likely had little to no income since then. It makes sense that she’d be holding a light purse at this point. On top of that, she beat out Crowley spending less than $200,000 to his nearly $3.5 million, so I’d say that speaks positively to her ability to make her money work for her.

And then just a final question for the conservatives: what’s the real point of this thread once we set aside the cheap shots? Are conservatives suggesting politics should be a game for the wealthy only?

    Really?

    I disagree.

Historically, we have experienced relatively low inflation, our currency has stayed strong, and our borrowing is generally far less as a ratio of our GDP as most countries. And a large part of that borrowing is inter-governmental, which is much the same of borrowing from your own savings.

All things considered, financially we are strong and pretty much always have been.

I think we should cut expenses and reduce our debt, but your "sky is falling" mentality to justify putting a complete novice in charge of the countries finances is irrepsonible and inaccurate.

    This is very true.

Most people have no idea the risk involved in these types of ventures.

We should make a law that only billionaires should be able to run for government positions. We could verify this by clicking their tax returns.

    Sound good cons?

Isn’t that the point of this thread?

Silly bartender! Politics is for the wealthy!

Trump, after the election, held a meeting with the press where he just railed at them for an hour.

During the transition he worked to undermine the Obama administration with Russia and Israel.

But not attending his inauguration is such a big problem for you? How about applauding his first address to Congress only to be followed by his Twitter eruption accusing Obama of wiretapping him.

And thank you for your usual response which is par for the course for the Trump flock of sheep.

Really? How in the hell can you reduce the debt if you cut taxes? Tax money is used to pay off the bond holders that funded the tax shortfall in the first place. Since our debt is over $22 Trillion that means that we need to get $22 Trillion from tax revenue to pay it off. As long as taxes are low and the government continues to borrow money to run operations the debt will continue to grow. It will never be reduced.

So what? You don't think the people that you put in Congress should have some idea of how government works?

I am actually going to defend her on this. This is her first public office and frankly anyone can use google to see how expensive rentals are in the DC area. They are astronomically high. Not everyone who runs for politics is a self made millionare. People ripping on her for this are doing exactly what the people who rip on Trump's tweets are doing and that is completely losing their **** over nothing. She is 28 years old, how many 28 year olds who worked in a restaurant have tens of thousands of dollars just lying around. Even if she has a 401k or some other retirement plan she can't pull it out without taking a penalty.

They weren’t her clothes. She had to return them after the shoot...y’know, so someone else can use them.

I'm kind of sympathetic she is working class but has a large population in her district do some collecting or ask someone of means for a floater loan, twenty five thousand dollars to get settled for a few months and some pare cash should be something she can repay. Then later she can repay it at fair interest.

Trump has no idea how government works, either. He thinks that it is his personal piggy bank.

Uhm, you were the one that tried to spin that the Demos supported him. During the transition it was discovered Susan Rice stopped any dealing with Russia over cyber issues. Moreover your Special Man already had stated that Russia didn't influence the Election.

Oh and Pelosi and her Demos didn't applaud nor stand for Trump. El Chumpo Guiterriez even walked out.

Nice try at the spin. But your Demos didn't even come close to trying to work or support anything he did. Didn't even show respect for the Office, let alone the man. But then that is what your kind does.

Meh, you said that **** the last time when running around calling Bush jr Hitler.

Your a left wing appeaser and apolgist. Always was and always will be. So quit acting like you give any Repubs respect.

Oh and after Trump is gone then you will whine about whatever other Repub gets up there and throws out the mental check on your kind.

We kicked out diplomats and sanctioned Russia over the election meddling during the transition. How is any of that about Trump other than Trump trying to undermine it?

And not clapping for or attending a ceremony isn't fighting against Trump or not trying to work with him.

You say Trump was trying to undermine BO the peeps um inquiries. Why does Mattis make you look like you don't have a clue as to what you are talking about.

So again you cant show the Demos gave any support nor even showed respect to the Office.
