There is an outstanding amount of evidence that a group of Saudi Arabia government agents tortured and murdered the journalist Jamal Khashoggi in the Saudi Arabian embassy in Turkey when Mr. Khashoggi went to the embassy to get paperwork to complete his divorce so he could remarry. Mr. Khashoggi was a great and widely beloved human being who tried to use journalism to stop governmental wrong's occurring in his home country of Saudi Arabia! It is despicable and justifiably stokes great rage in the international community when they hear what happened to this good man and the big question now arises what should the American government do about it because American politicians are threatening a major response. There is a myriad of options the American government could choose from one just extreme which would be to use the audio tape of the crime to identify one of the perpetrators and use our intelligence service to hire a hit man to take that perpetrator out, but, that is not the way a good country acts a good country respects the rule of law and doesn't take justice in their own hands in this way.

The American people need to definitely remember that the country of Saudi Arabia has been a great friend to America over the past forty plus years. People may dispute the following contention but they would absolutely wrong that being that the Saudi Arabia government has been a great friend to America and the West over this time period in moderating the price of oil, they have been a restraining force in OPEC being responsible for protecting America and Worldwide economies from the destabilization that can result from energy prices. In addition, over the decades they have been a great ally in America's fight against radical Islamic terrorism and the grave threat to our culture this movement poses! Further, Saudi Arabia is in a vital war for America'a interests in Yemen, its neighbor, if the Saudi's and its allies lose that means Iran and its allies win that is the country of Iran which would relish the demise of America!

The problem with Saudi Arabia seems to be with the second most powerful figure in the Kingdom, Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman. Although he is right on the economics for Saudi Arabia that the age of oil is coming to an end and Saudi Arabia needs to be outstanding aggressive about pivoting its economy away from oil especially toward manufacturing more of what they consume, his record on human rights is somewhat troubling. Back in 2017 he was behind the arrest of a group of wealthy Saudis based on trumped up charges resulting in the Saudi government extorting $100 billion from those arrested. What really needs to take place is King Salman of Saudi Arabia needs to put a system in place consisting of one or maybe a small tribunal of Saudis to act as a check on the young Crown Prince involving anything that involve the Saudi government significantly harming human rights.

In any event, America over the Mr. Khashoggi matter should refrain from doing anything that significantly harms Saudi Arabia from a security or economic standpoint. The perpetrators of this crime probably had diplomatic immunity because they were considered personnel legitimately working at the Saudi embassy in Turkey. Since Saudi Arabia abused this privilege of legal protections of embassy personnel America's response should be that for four years for Saudi embassies throughout America diplomatic visas will be restricted, that is, the Saudi Arabian government will have to justify those visas they will not be extended to Saudi's in the intelligence services or that present a suspicious reason for their coming to America!

There is so much to respond to in your post, some I agree with and some not. But this quote from you is utterly insane! Is it your opinion that the U.S. is "a good country" that "respects the rule of law and doesn't take justice in their own hands"?

I don't think Trump admin will do anything that matters but this murder was done in such a "screw you" manner that there has to be some back lash, haven't we learned anything from the man of the year Putin ???

How does the 70's gas shortage factor into the "overwhelming evidence" the Saudi killed the journalist?

I agree, Trump said a few words and that's that, no President would have done otherwise.

If Turkey has proof then Turkey should be deporting the SA diplomats and employees and shutting the consulate down.

I figured that much. I just don't know what the gas shortage has to do with the Saudi journalist.

Don't get "angry". Get even. Here's how.

There is an easy win for the US versus the Saudis.

The President should invite the Allies to join the US in a sanction operation to intercept and commandeer Saudi oil tankers - those full of oil.

There is a sanction which the US can apply which will prevent the Saudis buying arms from anyone - because the sanction stops Saudis from making super-profits from oil sales.

The President should order the US Navy to intercept and commandeer Saudi oil tankers - those full of oil - to auction the tankers off to the highest bidder, enabling the US to cream off the profits of the oil sale.

Seize the Saudi's TV satellites and broadcast using them asking the Saudi military if they would mind awfully arresting the Saudi royal family - offering to pay the Saudi military handsomely using the profits we are making from pirating their oil tankers.

Just a little high seas piracy, Jim Lad.
Shiver me timbers if the Saudis want to declare war over a little oil.

The Saudi military will fold and deliver MbS into our hands.

Saudi tankers shipping oil and gas and outward bound from Saudi ports.

If you'll say the word, Mr President, we'll raise the Jolly Roger and commandeer those tankers for the Free World soon enough.

The US is better off with more domestic oil production now and could withstand an oil embargo better, but we don't want to wait in long lines and pay more for gas just because of some non-US citizen journalist.

If Saudi oil is cut off the only winner would be Russia.

The USA is totally independent of any over seas oil production. The USA is the world's biggest producer of oil and natural gas.

Without the US navy to protect it, Saudi oil can't be moved by sea.

Any action against US interest would mean the nationalizing and confiscation of all Saudi money and assets in the USA or under USA protection.

The are multiple factions that would love to over throw the Saudi family and take over the country.

For all these reason and many more the Saudi government will put on trial and execute a group of scape goats to assuage the USA.

    End of story.

Don't get mad. Wait for this to cool off and go away. Meanwhile gather the names and profiles of the criminals who did it. Later use black ops assassinations on them. Don't publicize it. Send a silent message to Ahab.
