I voted "nationalist", even if I would define msyelf as a political skeptical. I don't believe anymore in any politician or political system.

Despite considering that keeping the legacy of your ancestos is a sacred duty, I'm not conservative. I don't care of gay people marrying or doing their gay stuff.

An independent . . . although some people claim that it makes them a libertarian instead. Mostly though it seems to me that a libertarian is either a conservative or a liberal who despises the leadership of either the GOP or the Dem party. Meh . . . but I could be wrong about that.

I was going to say conservative minded -- but not a GOPer -- when I spied the category of 'Texan', Well, how in the hell was I supposed to resist that? Lifelong Texan here; though whether that is a good or an iffy thing depends on my mood of the moment. Mostly it has been a life-positive, though.

I put Tea Party, because it was the only option that believed in a smaller government and I'm a native Oklahoman, so it felt wrong to claim Texan.

I'm a fan of Arizona as well. Spur, Texas is nice; but then again it depends on what one likes. But then again, doesn't everything?

Well I used to be democrat but changed when the party changed during the Bush presidency. If I had to choose I would say I would be conservative with liberal leanings.

Who should you follow well the answer to that is easy, who are you, what do you believe?
Also, keep In mind when you ask others what they "are" you will only ever receive a subjective answer based upon their their interpretation of what this our that social structure is to them, and not what it is in itself. If I told you I was a Republican you would understandably think I was speaking of the GOP; however what does the GOP know of Republicanism. It's like when leftist authoritarians call themselves liberal it always makes me chuckle, when do they get around to the liberal part, after they micromanage the life out of the human spices?
As for myself I'll say this, I am definitely not a socialist, Communist, our Marxists. For I see them for what they are, and not what utopian fairytales calme they are, Neo-feudalism, and a sign of sickness with in the spices. For what is feudalism? Is it not a social structure in which all land holdings are in the hands of an autocrat, and this autocrat in turn divides this land holding up amongst his "friends" (lords and nobles), and as for everyone else, the peasants, and the serfs who possess no property well they best hope they are useful to their overlords. Likewise is all forms of social-collectiveism oligarchys life feudalism they just use different names in place of the old. However all land property is in the hands of a single autocratic entity called the state, our sometimes glorious leader, and likewise does this autocratic entity share power and influence with its"friends" called the party member that lord and noble of today. And the proletariat those peasants of socialism they just beat hope they are useful to their overlords.

The OP left "Republican" off the list choices. That tells the story of the poll, doesn't it?

Yes, but they only did so out of ignorance of what Republicanism is, their only point of reference most likely being the GOP in America, our the generic "a state with out a monarchy" definition. This lack of understanding is the result of willful intent on the part of those who direct the education of the youth, they want people to forget American Republicanism. For it stands in direct contrast to the dogmatic, and despotic natures, of the statist ideologies, whether in the form of Monarchy, oligarchy, our democracy. Who wish above all else to exercise the legal authority of the state, and the force of violence held by the state, to impose their "justice", "progress", and "greater good", upon society for our own good. where as these advocates of the use of governmental power for, "correcting" societies ills, hold that the state is a benevolent entity if only used for good, American Republicanism, holds that the state is nothing more than a necessary evil, and recognizes the reality that, their is no great evil in the world that is not the product of, our enabled by government. Democid is the number one killer of innocent people ever.

Having trouble deciding if you like Marx or Stalin better isn't independent thought. You were never a conservative, we've all been through this before, you just called yourself one and ripped on their ideas...

Funny, but I don't like Marx or Stalin. I was a Republican until Trump destroyed the party. Trump and his flock are not Republicans, because Republicans have different ideals than Trump. Trump is an autocrat and wants to rule the country, punish anybody who opposes his views and he is morally corrupt. That is hardly the Republican way.

Trump didn't destroy the party, he was elected by it. Those who whine and flee because of Trump were never worthy of the party and good riddance to them. Imagine what today's supreme court would look like if the whiny never Trumpers got their way. You're welcome, real Republicans took care of that for you, if you were ever a Republican to begin with...

I now will continue to vote straight Republican, so it should have been on the list. Personally, and I've often posted this, the Democratic Party should formally be declared a domestic terrorist organization - and specifically a fascist terrorist organization and and accordingly outlawed the way Germany outlawed the NAZI party.

The press and media refuse to recognize that President Trump is the Republican party. They keep pretending that Jeb Bush supporters are the real Republican party.
