This is fascinating. I only knew a small portion of this part of the history.

The Palestinians are being taught to admire Haj Amin El Husseini as a great man and leader. This is done by their education system or by their narrative, all created by crooks or by naive people that do not know the truth.

Following is the answer:

The damage done by Haj Amin El-Husseini -p His first level responsibility for the conflict and his third level responsibility for the Holocaust.

Haj Amin El Husseini was a son of an effendi family. initially they were tax collectors for the Ottomans, getting this position by falsely claiming to be descendants of prophet Muhammad. The Effendis took loans and paid the taxes upfront to the Ottomans and later collected 2 fold taxes from the Fellahin (peasants).

When there was a draught and the fellahin were not able to pay, the Effendis confiscated their land and then the Fellahin had to rent the land from the Effendis

When Zionism started the Effendis sold swamp land to the Jewish immigrants, The Zionist used the fellahin to help cultivate the land and build their homes. This prevented some rental income from falling to the hands of the Effendis.

At that time Haj Amin was in opposition to the leading Effendi - Nashashibi in their establishment and Haj Amin wanted to replace them by offering the other Effendis more income.

For this he wanted to stop the Jewish immigration.

Haj Amin hence organized massacres against the Jews in 1920 and in 1929, trying to stop the Jewish immigration by terrorizing the Jews and by violently persuading the British to prevent the Aliyah.

Trying to stop his aggressiveness the British appointed him as the Great Mufti of Jerusalem, despite the fact that he was not a religious scholar. This did not help when the now Mufti organized the Big Arab Revolt between 1936 and 1939. during this period he caused the killing of hundreds of Jews, of thousands of Palestinians who opposed his activities, while causing the Palestinian elite and 40,000 Jews to leave as a result of the hostilities .

In parallel, Hitler wanted a Judenrein territory (without Jews). First in Germany, than wherever the Nazis conquered. There was always the option of extermination but the first preferred option for Hitler then was deportation.

In October 1937 Eichmann Arrived to the Middle East to cut a new deal of deporting German Jews to the Holy Land. A previous deal was made in 1933 between the Nazis and Hayim Arlozorov, that brought here 60,000 German Jews.

As during 1937 there was here the Big Arab Revolt, aimed at stopping the Jewish immigration Eichmann naturally needed to get the Mufti's agreement for deporting the Jews to the Holy Land. But the the Mufti (Haj Amin) obviously refused. At that point a connection was established between Eichmann and the Mufti leading the Mufti to collaborate with the Nazis.

The Mufti then organized here a spying network for the Nazis while trying to persuade Eichmann to exterminate the Jews. Eichmann did not listen but reported to Hitler that the deportation will not be made to the Holy Land, and he looked for other candidate locations.

The Mufti then had to leave to Iraq because of the British suspicions. There he organized with Rashid Ali a pro-Nazi revolt against the British. After the suppression of the revolt the Mufti returned here to plan two extermination camps for the Jews living here, in the case that Rommel (the commander of the German military in North Africa) will win the battle of El Alamein against Montgomery (the British commander).

As a result of his additional disappointment, the Mufti fled away to Berlin and participated in the Nazi propaganda by transmitting in Arabic from Radio Berlin.

In parallel the deportation efforts ended without any success as Germany occupied most of Europe and wanted the Jews out of there, while no other country was ready to accept the Jews. Eichmann reported to Hitler that they must go to full extermination.

Later the Mufti recruited Muslims in the Balkan to the S.S. to help the Jewish extermination there. He further succeeded, using his connections with top Nazi leaders, to prevent many Jewish agency's attempts to rescue Jewish groups in South East Europe, initially organized with local Nazi commanders. Many such groups were of children.

The bottom line of who were responsible for the Holocaust initiative and execution are hence: Hitler was number 1, Eichmann and his commander Heidrich, were number 2, and the Mufti was next in this responsibility line. All other Nazis more or less fulfilled orders. During the Mufti's meetings with top Nazi leaders, the latters reported that he hates the Jews more than them.

The Big Arab Revolt caused Yitzhak Ben Tzvi,(later the second president of Israel) to stop his study about the Jewish-Samaritan origin of the Palestinians. Only Ben Gurion remained a believer in this direction until 1956 when he gave up as well.

Following the November 29th UN adopting its Resolution about the partition of the Holy Land,, The Mufti travelled to Arab countries to persuade influential figures to press their governments to invade the Holy Land after the expected departure of the British in 1948.This is how the local conflict he created here became a global Arab violent conflict with Israel. According to Misinai, unlike the ancestors of the modern day Jews who were city dwellers to a large extent, the Hebrew ancestors of the Palestinians were rural dwellers, and were allowed to remain in the land of Israel to work the land and supply Rome with grain and olive oil.[5]

Misinai states the topic of Hebrew origin was spoken of openly by Palestinians until relatively recent history, much like the Egyptians or Lebanese are aware of their origins to the ancient Egyptians and Phoenicians respectively (even if this topic arouses the passions of those wishing to stress or de-emphasise it).[8

yes, the role of the Grand Mufti in first inciting the arab riots in the twenties to his unbridled support for the nazis (the enemy of my enemy and all that) to his role in the Jew/Arab civil war that morphed into al naqba might be rather eye opening to those unfamiliar with the history of the conflict.

As to Mizrahi jews sharing genetic markers with arabs of the region, this should not be surprising to anyone. Sharing land and language for a couple few thousand years will tend to yield such genetic results. As to who came first, the hebrews, the mizrahi or the pagan arabs its of academic interest only with no real bearing on the realities of today,.
