Reagan got 28% of the liberal vote in 1980 and 29% of the liberal vote in 1984, meaning 72% of liberals didn't vote for him in 1980 and 71% didn't vote for him in 1984. Keep in mind that Reagan won both elections of those elections by a landslide (Mondale only won his home state of Minnesota in 1984). Reagan won conservatives and independents by huge margins in both elections.

The media and liberal politicians did their best to discredit Reagan by calling him a stupid warmongerer and several other things. Coretta Scott King said she expected the KKK and the Nazi Party to become active if Reagan won. She feared lynchings. There was a lot of talk like that.

If you want me to correct my statement that "all" libs hated Reagan, I will. But it's clear that most did. He was called a "dunce" daily throughout the first campaign in 1979 and 1980. And that really didn't slow down until after the 1984 election, when the economy took off and Reagan wasnt eligible to run for election again.

Yes you were wrong and the real issue is that you are trying to compare current opinions of Trump to past opinions of Reagan. 28-29% of Dems voting for a Republican candidate is huge. It's literally unique. Trump received less than 10% of the D vote.

But you followed politics in the 80s, so you should know all this.

Historically, republicans resign while democrats circle the wagons to protect their perverts.
