I continue to advocate visible branding of violent felons, violence against another justifies the 'punishment', advertises the potential risk, my provide a small measure of deterrence, and would obviate the need for firearm registration.
Though well intentioned by some, seen as a requisite step toward abuse of power and tyranny of government by many, registration will not have an impact on violent criminals obtaining weapons and implementation of registration is a means of turning a right into a privilege. A gun registration system is marginly useful for tracking a gun to the last legal owner for the purpose of punishing that legal owner, but it will be near impossible for proving that owner knowingly, and illegally transferred ownership to a felon or currently not recognized person with premeditated criminal or latent criminal intent. Despite declared intentions, the hidden agenda is the registration and identification of gun owners not guns.
Reducing violence in our communities requires addressing the underlying causes, the drug trade, poverty, cyclic incarceration in crime U, and etc. and enforcing the current laws and identifying and tracking the violent in society. I prefer having my tax contribution paying for attacking the real problem, those that are willing to violently attack others, rather than a not an fit for a intended solution that carries a hidden agenda for impeding my right to self defense when the government can't, is unwilling, and to guarantee my safety.
One bottom line with me, all the discussions on gun registration, gun control, leftist fear mongering, and more that the liberal community uses to justify trampling anti gun rights justification is an admission the government cannot protect me and my family, thus one of the reasons, among others, I continue to fight for my right to bear arms for my and my family's self defense; I refuse to be, effectively, cast into the role of an expendable to the left's agenda.
Unlike many, I see every gun owner as a member of a general militia where we are responsible for common defense of each other against both foreign and domestic threats, assisting those we hire to serve us in capturing and punishing those that would violently trample the rights of others when needed. It is a responsibility to be shared by all, not delegated to others by cowards unwilling to participate in keeping the peace and protecting our rights.

Frauds like me that claim Guns save lives and use experiences such as defensive gun use to prove such is the case.
