Let's go way out on a limb and predict two downtrodden franchises to make this year's World Series.....

Chicago Cubs vs. Cleveland Indians

I think this year might finally be it for the Cubs. They're solid! Although the Indians have strong pitching and have a shot at the post season, their lineup is full of old geezers they signed this offseason, and I really don't think they'll make the WS. But one can dream. :fingerscrossed:

Giants are going to ultimately destroy the Cubs for the NL pennant and beat KC in the world series.

Or maybe that is just wishful thinking.

I don't follow the NL as closely as the AL so can't really comment on the Giants this season.

I think the dark horse this year in the AL is Texas. They made the deal for Cole Hamels late last season and he's lived up to being a top of the rotation guy, and Yu Darvish comes back some time the first half from his injury, so you have two #1 starters. And their lineup seems solid, with both vets and youth, although they're off to a very slow start. But one week doesn't make a season in baseball.

Tigers will have live bats but closing pitches will let the most runs scored of all teams.

Not at all.I think there is a very strong chance the Giants and my Royals hook up again in the series. My prediction is the Royals win the world series again.the reason this team is so successful is not just because they are talented but they play it for the love of the game instead of the love for the money like so many other teams do,but more importantly, they play for each other.that is why they will be great for many years.they got the best catcher in the game who works very well with pitchers locked up to a multi year contract deal which will be key for them being a dynasty.

I wish it would be the royals and cubs in thew world series but it will probably be your Giants, they had tons of key injurys last year.

This might sound crazy, but...Hanley Ramirez has turned into a superb first baseman. That dude is REALLY good! (I'm talking John Olerud, Carlos Pena, or Kevin Youkilis good.)

My Cubbies look about as good as I could have hoped. Still, being a Cubs fan turns you into a pessimist. The white sox look good on the other side of town. Perhaps an all Chicago series?

Cincinnati Reds will sweep the Oakland A's in a repeat of 1990....hey if we are going out on a limb, we might as well go all the way to the very end if the thinnest branch

Cubs are starting to look human.

Actually lost a game started by Jake last night.

I'd agree with the Giants. At this time of the year I'm thinking more along the lines of the Twins edging out my Atlanta team for the first pick in the draft. Just when you think Atlanta isn't going to win another game, they get another good pitching performance.

Mookie Betts is making a run at player of the week...5 home runs in 7 at-bats.
