Any Klobuchar rules herself out as possible Biden running mate

I decided to place this in the political opinion section rather than current events or election section. Reason- I have held and have made this opinion here on the Forum before and I repeat my opinion again. Biden took the first step to re-elect Trump when he tied himself to selecting a woman as VEEP. Amy Klobuchar just put the frosting on Trump's re-election cake by calling for a "woman of color."

Biden by picking a woman was enough pandering but when Biden names a Black woman as VEEP candidate that will constitute the epitome of pandering.

Those in the Democratic Party who think that the killing of George Floyd somehow makes American voters want a Black woman on their ticket better think again. Even Democrats will not buy pandering. The sympathy gained by the killing of George Floyd will be wiped out from view by the smoke from stores burning , looting and Atlanta's Wendy's burned down. Actually the Democratic crowd should start planning a vacation trip to Kapustastan this coming January if they do not want to watch an autocrat innaugerated again.

Maybe some day the Republican Party will learn that a couple two SC judges is not worth the destruction of our democracy but that will not happen unless and until the Democratic Party learns that pandering to race does not pay.

He already said that he is picking a woman but Amy just put it to Joe.
My point is that just picking a woman elects Trump. Picking a Black woman or one "of color" just puts the frosting on the cake.

I believe that he is. He knows that ONE reason Hillary lost was that Blacks abandoned the Democratic Party in 2016. OK abandoned is too strong but they did not cone out in the numbers they did for Obama.
Joe is pandering to woman and Joe will pander to Black voters.

Chauvin was on the police force from 2001 until he was recently fired this year. In that time, he amassed 17 complaints, a highly unusual rate of almost 1 per year.

Klobuchar was the County Attorney from 1999 - 2007. Even though Republicans aren't as accomplished at smear merchandising as Democrats, attaching Klobuchar to the George Floyd murder is a no-brainer. That Democrats said the mere mention of Klobuchar's name as the County Attorney where a habitual abuser lurked under her watch was unfair means there is a there there.

 

But he is.

 

I honestly don’t understand, what is it with Democrats about putting someone’s physical attributes over quality.
Why does it matter if the running candidate is a woman, minority, or something else? Why can’t a candidate just sell their qualities?
Personally, I’d love to vote for one black woman as president - Condi Rice. But she is too smart to run.

Maybe we need more conservative judges precisely to preserve the country. Left lost it’s mind and while they will spend the next 5 years infighting we need to make sure this country continues to function.

 

I completely agree. And I'm sure there are many, many qualified female candidates. Joe has just targeted his search. And if he chooses to narrow that search down to women of color, he will also find many, many qualified candidates.

Did people think he was going to choose an unqualified candidate simply for optics?

Judging from the last 5 years that seems to be the case.
Look at presidential candidate Buttigieg (from Indiana, the gay mayor). On his watch there was a spike in violent crimes, something that as a mayor he could have addressed because he controlled the police. He was a failure as a mayor, yet he got so far in the race. I don’t see how his quality of work could have played any role in his rise to national recognition. It looks like he had so much support due to his sexual orientation. So, yeah, libs care more about physical attributes of their candidates over the quality.

Groper Joe ruled out a male from the outset. Since women are the majority of the Democrats, this was pandering at the basic level.

 

Not so much physical attributes (although the pretty faces do show up there) but instead how many boxes get checked on the list of Approved Attributes. I agree that to them quality is secondary, though obeisance is not.

 

I suppose it's better than choosing the candidate with which you'd most likely want to have a beer...

This is not about physical attributes it is about group identity politics. Both parties do it. The Trump Party does it. Trump panders to the
Evengenitals, the racists, the while supremacists, the Southern pro Conderacy gangs,etc It is identity politics. The Trump Party does identity Party really well. The Democratic Party and the Republican Part not sonwell.

That has nothing to do with Biden but I am sure McCain who was also losing his mind at the time he was put on the ticket was also told who his running mate was to be.
When you can't even chew your own food you need people to tell you when and what to do and say. Mr. Biden is currently the perfect example.
