No, sorry, all I have is still pics, copyrighted. One of my good friends from RPM Motorsports took this:
Just ordered a keyless ignition for my 1300 for 30 bucks on Amazon. Normally costs 300. Super stoked! Out of all the bikes presented on this thread, were there many that were modded? I've done quite a lot to mine, with yet more still to do. Any bikes with USB chargers? Or beer bottle openers? Not sure what could be done way back when.
I am firmly agin Modding a bike.Mainly because it's a Harley thing. You got these Harley guys who go with a less expensive model in hopes of transforming it with accessories. Why not get the best Motorcycle in the lineup and forget all those dopey accessories. The main reason for a motorcycle is The Motor. With Harley morons it's the little stuff.Like the Color and how low the seat and MUST be a Softtail.Oddles of Chrome and Harley markings.Special mirrors and maybe fancy leather bags.Or just get a new Corbin seat and change out the rear lights and license plate holder. Things that add nothing to the overall ability to cruise or retain value.
it is so fast i am too scared to ride it sober i live my life a quarter mile at a time, nothing else matters. not the mortgage, not the store, not the team and all their bull. for those ten seconds or less on me hayabusa bike.... I'm free
I have 4 Yamahas, love them. Inline 4, crazy, it sounded like he was shifting too soon but I have no idea what a inline 4 sounds like at speed. Thanks.
I think the top speed in first gear was about 5 mph. That thing could climb a tree. It was a great intermediate bike for a kid - between a mini bike to a real motorcycle.
Same guy from 2016 (bike maybe not same but still Yamaha), you can see the shift points in the video: In 2016, I took my 2010 supercharged GT500 (car) to the same airport track. It wouldn't shift from 4th to 5th to 6th, so I sold it.
That's the curse of drag racing.Missing a shift and having trouble engaging in gear.On a motorcycle it's exaggerated.Because one has to use the hand in order to twist the throttle.Plus still squeeze the clutch with the other hand.
Loved that bike.. rode my housemates RD #50.. he'd done some stuff to it (expansion chambers and reeds?) it was really fast.. but the scariest thing I ever rode was a 2 stroke 700 CC triple something or other.. even my wild and bulletproof self only took that up and down the street once (full blast! of course!.. I wasn't THAT sensible) The things were prone to tank slap.
Knock Harleys all you want but they hold resale value very well and there are more accessories for them than there are for a Barbie Doll. Mines worth more now than when I bought it... of course that has to be taken with a grain of salt.. it WAS wrecked and I've done a lot of changes to it since. (Shinto Tires! wow those things are great! I've done 4 or 5 tire changes since I got it and those are the best by far)
97cc top speed about 25mph. An old work friend of mine used to collect 1940s kit especially radios. Every now and then he would drive the 20 miles to work on his Corgi.
Not to be confused or conflated with the dreaded " piston slap " They say it's nothing to fret about and usually goes away after the engine warms.Somewhat common complain with engines logging many miles.Or when a piston is Cast vs. being Forged { higher degree of tolerance } of maintaining proper clearance. Not to be confused or conflated with average garden variety Harley owner. Some are nice to talk to,but most are so geared-up about only talking about Harley's { coincidentally Their Harley } they become boring in less time it takes for a Edsel going down the quarter mile run just for kicks. I am a Motorcyclist.I like most motorycles.Harley guys ONLY like Harley's.That's no Joke. I say Son,That's a Joke.
I had a Big 1500 Intruder.I liked the bike but needed something more gutsy.I kept it for around 2 years.I think I put under 5,ooo miles on it.I can't remember what I traded it in for.Maybe it will come to me. This was like 15 years ago.
The 2004 Intruder 805 was a sweet "little" bike. I regret selling it in 2012. I only rode it around the rural areas north of Dallas and to work, mainly in the spring and fall. I've also had two Suzuki cars, including the Samurai (above).
I remember seeing something very similar years ago. I think they were considered like a Farm scooter. For use around a farm. There are all kinds of strange motor scooters. Watch old drag movies and see how some the fellars scoot around the drag strip in their work stations.
Discontiued that model because of extreme safety concerns. I just saw a site rating the ugliest and words cars { vehicles } in history. That Suzuki was right at the top.I think it said that Consumer Reports or Car & Driver kind of purposedly did tests to roll the vehicle over.Like what Happened to the Jeep CJ-5 after 60 Minutes showed it rolling over.
The overall problem with that bike was Looks. It was immediately seen as a Japanese bike.Defitanely NO Harley.Due to the gas tank and that big section of frame supporting the tank.Harley Creators went to extreme lengths to make sure their Cruisers had a specific rake in the front end. I think Willie G { Strangely thought of as a Legend designer } demanded a Harley have that certain rake and trail and also MUST have a seamless tank.Big Deal. His only Legend designer idea'r EVER was the V-Rod ... PERIOD.
