I wasnt sure which section to put this in, so I apologize if this is the wrong place. A dude that grew up in the same town as me and shares a lot of the same friends as me got shot last night like 3 blocks from my apartment. He was sitting in a parked car and got shot in the arm with a sawed off shotgun. He's in the hospital, but he's alive and is going to keep his arm. I knew a kid at the university i went to in Long Island that got shot in the leg with a low caliber rifle, as well. Shootings happen around my block from time to time, but its strange when it happens to someone you know.
I know a couple people, one guy I know was shot in the arm with a .22. Another guy I know claims he was shot square in the chest with a .22, however I have some serious doubts. He description of what happened contradicts what I know .22's can do.
I believe it's worse when the victim is dead and no one says, heard or saw a thing even after 10 years. Makes you want to take action, but then, against who, and I'm too ignorant now of inner city life and I really just don't care at this stage. Cold hearted and insensitive, yes, but I can't help it.
When I was in grade 6 there was a kid in my class who had been shot in the face. Apparently the bullet though bounced off his cheekbone so I guess he was pretty lucky.
I saw the movie Deliverance. I know you've been through a lot more if you are your avatar image. You are a badass.
My best friend was a cop. He got shot once, stabbed once, and sliced with a broken bottle once. He survived them all. I'm really glad he decided the "higher-up" were hypocrites - and quit the force.
