Ahhh, sweet sweet democracy. The only democracy in the Middle East at it's finest, ladies as gentlemen.

You must listen to the President speak, or get arrested. Is that not a hint of totalitarianism?

And no, I do not believe the polices story. Why? They are whitewashing it. It is actually illegal to call for boycotts in "Israel", they were simply enforcing the new democratic laws of the Zionist entity. The rest I doubt was even true, otherwise there would of been more than just house arrest.

Of course I already know the predictable responses by the pro-Zionist lobby here on the forum. But maybe you'll surprise me.

At least they're not being slaughtered in droves as the Syrians are... or as the Egyptians and Libyans were.

True, but if Israel is supposed to be a democracy, as some like to claim, such Israelis be allowed to freely express themselves and shouldn't we be more critical of their inability to do so?

I'm not really convinced that Israel is a democracy in the sense that Western nations are. But, I am convinced that I myself, being Western and Caucasian, would probably be safer and experience a greater amount of freedom in Israel than I would elsewhere in the region.

There is always a chance that I could run into a group of these guys and have a different opinion afterwards:

I doubt the Israeli leadership really wants a democracy as found in Western nations. Our democracies are a double edged sword where almost any group can gain support provided that the conditions are right. Israel probably doesn't want too much Arab integration, or too much Arab influence and power.

lol I find it too funny how the only way to make "Israel" democracy look good is by comparing it to dictatorships! Seriously that's hilarious! And I see it so much on the Internet, it never gets old.

    LOL

As I said, I don't believe Israel is democratic in the same sense as Western nations are. BUT, as far as that region of world is concerned, not so bad... especially considering current events.

I wasn't speaking about you, I was speaking in general.

It's not bad if your an Ashkenazi Jew. Or a settler. Otherwise, it's not so fun. Even Arab Jews get persecuted in "Israel" by the European Jews.

There's some videos on YouTube of how non-Jews, and even American Jews are sometimes treated in the Zionist entity.

But there is no way they can claim to be a democracy when it is illegal to boycott things or people. That's just one of many reasons.
