    While this in no way excuses the rioters, they should have been several ranks of unbroken police lines facing them down.

    Keep in mind that Trump was still President while all this was going on. I find it strange that people are even wondering why the Capitol Police were being called off.

    It's often a very pithy language. Here it's saying "caught up, hung up" which is the essence of the felony murder offense.

    I served three years in Heidelberg and took a German language class. I learned how to ask "Where is the train station?" Not the most useful phrase since I usually did not want to go to the train station.

    However, during a side trip I was able to ask a Netherlander in German where the camp ground was and was able to follow his directions. That was over fifty years ago, and I have pretty much forgot everything I learned.

    Yes. If for nothing else, not stopping the violence. And are you seriously gonna use the "everybody else was doing it" excuse to downplay the events that took place?
