I'm sure to those entrenched in their sides rhetoric, the other side is far worse than their's and they have facts to prove it. But from my angle it seems pretty clear that most- if not all- of the politicians you see are by definition sell outs. They sell themselves just to become politicians, to stay politicians, and to enhance their influence as politicians.

It seems really clear when you see just how much they mess up in their prostitution. How they fail at deceiving people with a false narrative or false image of who they are. How their lives and numerous failings are uncovered and waived off. You can probably point to any politician that is familiar and rattle off their list of corruptions, crimes, and failings. But people still vote for them- even though their vote really doesn't count.

This is my view. Politicians are whole's for the people who purchase them, but they are pimps to the people who vote for them. I think that the game is that a politicians worth is in part based on how much public support they can rally- one way or the other. How many people will walk of a cliff if you snap your fingers?

^ I love this movie and I love that scene...

This is because democracy isn't really democracy, but masquerades as one. However, the image of a democracy needs to be maintained and so instead of simply shoving a gun in your face or dropping shells on your roof (though they will if pushed to that extent) they ask for your consent. They do this by varying means- by overplaying a threat or underplaying a consequence of your support or their decision- but the key is in getting you to willingly sign on to things that might not be in your interest. Politicians broker public support and political/legal leverage.

Among other things, this years Democratic line-up pointed this out pretty well. Not only is it sad to understand how these reptiles would eat their own leg for power or prestige, and the really awful things they did- especially to the very people they claim to be in support of- but that even if they fail in their presidential run, these shallow, disgusting dung-streaks are still seated executives of state governments. That person who get's laughed off the presidential run for being exposed as a corrupt sellout will simply...quietly...continue being a sellout in their state.

But I don't think the blame ends their. I think there are two set's of whole's here. The politicians and the voters. Because we whole our support out to them in exchange for...what? What are we really getting back when we elect these things? Some vague notion of returning to some vague notion of normalcy. Some insane bid to reverse the clock and go back to what? When corporations hired thugs- or the police or military- to break your heads open when you protested for fair wages and working conditions? Now they can simply hire illegals they're not citizens or human and because of the way they are treated- which is horrifying- they are allowed to walk in here and create more problems by taking jobs and resources from people that are here. That's insane. The government is both brutalizing these people and claiming to be these people's guardian angels- but ask an idiot and he'll say it's just the Republicans, or it's just the Democrats because this is what this one and that one supports based on what these liars tell me on tv and media punditry.

When you point out America's problems, it's really two sided. I firmly believe that a bad government would never have a chance of surviving if the people weren't bad as well. I don't believe in this sacred citizen crap. I think the people are just as bad as the politicians, they just don't have the power and reach. We're all whole's, it would seem. It's just that we get different rates from different buyers.
