Are religions that preach inequality for women and gays, traitors to their country?

Rights, without enforcement are non-existent, just as your imaginary god is.

If any religion preaches against the law of the land, they are traitors to their country.

Any women or gays in your family?

Did your god give them the right to be equal the way secular law demands, or are they second class the way Christianity demands?

So many gratuitous insults of late.

You should really look for a purpose or cause for your life.

OK, so what does that verse mean to you?

    Job 2:3Contemporary English Version (CEV)
3 Then the Lord asked, “What do you think of my servant Job? No one on earth is like him—he is a truly good person, who respects me and refuses to do evil. And he hasn’t changed, even though you persuaded me to destroy him for no reason.”

Religion is a private matter. In free countries [also in Italy, regardless the presence of the Vatican] you can do what you want in your home [in your private sphere]. The state deals with the public sphere.

This is different in a theocracy like Iran, but this is a different tale.

So probably you are making reference to Churches, more than to religious persons. A Church [overall if institutionalized] is a wide organization which can acquire also a political value [let's mention again the Vatican]. About them you can request all you want.

Regarding the single believers ... I repeat, it's a private matter. You should ask to all the believers, singularly.
For example I'm a Christian Protestant without a Church [I'm not member of a Protestant organization].

So, if you are enough patient ...

Then, to enter a bit into the matter. In the private sphere you can discriminate [and you discriminate].
From stupid things, like not wanting animals in your home [so that if a friend pays you a visit he has to remind not to carry his dog], to more important things: you could not stand that your son becomes gay. Parental decisions and behaviors are in the private sphere [if there is no crime, obviously].

Why do you assume that "equality" is an inherently good thing?

I care about such things, but I'm not seeing that value in these posts, I see polarisation and virtue signalling. The value you suggest, how do you mean that arises, and how does it compare to loss of value (for instance, I would argue polarisation on its own is a net negative value).

That is a good question ... but actually our first allegiance is to our Creator........

We are supposed to love God with our heart, mind, soul and strength...... and then everybody else as we love ourselves......

Our ignorance is what has destroyed us as individuals and as nations over and over and over again throughout history......

You do have a good point though that only an astonishingly ignorant Christian would tend to consider themselves superior either to women or to a member of the LGBTQ community.

In order for a Christian to consider themselves superior to either women or a member of the LGBTQ community.... they have to be terribly ignorant of the reincarnation cycle / The Gilgul Cycle / or as Latter day Saints used to call it.... Multiple Mortal Probations.

It means that Yahweh is admitting to be weak enough in his moral sense to be moved to sin.

The Devil made me do it, as an honest god would say.

Job, if he was a good person, would not respect a genocidal god who can be moved to do evil without a just cause so easily.

IOW. That verse is a lie to have people love evil and sin, because Yahweh does.

Yahweh is created in our image. That is how Christians can idol worship him. They worship their own evil side. just as you and I do.

Or... it could refer to the ancient tradition within Judaism that Job..... gave advice to Pharaoh..... that led to
some depopulation of male children within the tribes of Israel............. and there were consequences for Job being so wise. .... much like a serpent. Rabbi Alon Anava covered those traditions in a lecture that I heard by him a year or so ago.

Do you see the religions preaching against the law they have sworn to uphold, via their pledge of allegiance, as a crime?

Do you see brainwashing a supernatural belief into a child as abuse?

I am a Gnostic Christian and universalist. We have tied god's righteousness to equality. All souls are created equal says most dogmas and myths.

Equality, except for god, was all there was in the beginning. It follows that that condition was and is a good thing under the law.

Equality of outcome is impossible, even if the supernatural were real.

This may be why those men who are wise will try to always put women and children above themselves. The law of the sea should be the law of the land as well.

    Reality does not think so.

    I am proudly virtue signalling.

I signal that only the evil will idol worship a genocidal god, be that god Yahweh or Jesus.

    The virtuous will agree.

I'm pretty sure that "women and children first" is

    1) As a "law of the sea" is simply a myth.
    2) In real life has been violated more often than it has been followed.
    3) I see great societal benefits from inequality.

Why do you honor a genocidal and infanticidal god?

Why do you honor one whose morals are so inferior to your own?

This didn't happen to me. I grew up in an Italian Catholic family, but since I was a teen I've always been able to take my decisions.
I've changed religion several times in my life [and I've even been a Scientologist!].

About children ... it's a social matter: children tend to imitate the parents. If parents are religious, children [usually] will be religious. But once enough adult to understand what's happening ... they can make their choices.

Regarding religions, I repeat ... you are talking about Churches. And about Churches, I think that in some occasions they are criminal, but they are also collectors of votes for politicians ... so that they have got not a few good cards to play, you know.

    1) You did no research. Fail.
    2) By cowards, yes. Not likely true. Half mark.
    3) So do I. Half mark.

I marked that last thinking that you should know that our out of control inequality is not creating enough jobs. The rich are hoarding.

    1) I looked it up on wikipedia. Not a perfect source but often a useful one.
    2) My second comment was largely based on my studies of major disasters at sea (kind of a hobby of mine among many).
    3) I was thinking in terms of inequality and social stratification spurring innovation.

God is as further above us than we are above insects.

I don't explain my morals to a house fly. Do you?

I was thinking more of what Picatty wrote of.

As a demography, the rich have gone over the tipping point where, --- the rest of us who pay taxes, --- can never reverse the flow of wealth from the poorest to the richest.

We are killing the economy and increasing poverty and inequality just as we are killing our eco system.

Yes. They understand better than some humans.

As a naturalist and realist, I suggest that your first is an outright lie.

Do you see nature as genocidal and infanticidal?

Neither do I, and that makes that imaginary construct more moral than the dick wad genocidal prick Christians adore.

    There are no flies here.

Try explaining your fascist satanic morals to us.
