The SPLC, Southern Poverty Law Center publishes a list of Hate Groups in the United States. As of 8/20/2017, the list is broken down with the following categories:
    Ku Klux Klan - 130
    Neo-Nazi - 99
    White Nationalist -100
    Racist Skinhead - 78
    Christian Identity - 21
    Neo-Confederate - 43
    Black Separatist - 193
    Anti-LGBT - 52
    Anti-Muslim - 101
    General Hate - 100

The SPLC has been criticized because it has Christian Organizations in it's list. Although I did not study all the organizations, I did look briefly at a couple of them - America's Promise Ministries which espouses a Zionist strategy to take over America, and Christian American Ministies which tends toward Confederatism. I did not do a thorough study of either of these "Christian" organizations.

I created this poll, because I want to learn more. My guess is that I would agree with the SPLC, that the 21 Christian Identity organizations are misguided Hate Groups. Here is the statement on the SPLC website, for groups in this category:

Christian Identity describes a religion that is fundamentally racist and anti-Semitic. It asserts that whites, not Jews, are the true Israelites favored by God in the Bible. In most of its forms, Identity theology depicts Jews as biologically descended from Satan, while non-whites are seen as soulless “mud people” created with the other Biblical “beasts of the field.” Some groups listed in other categories, such as the neo-Nazi Aryan Nations and several Klan groups, also hold Christian Identity beliefs.

Any group that stands for traditional marriage is considered a hate group by the SPLC.

100% FALSE assertion. If that was the case, the SPLC Hate List would be volumes and volumes.

Any group that stands for controlling illegal immigration are considered hate groups by the SPLC.

Antifa is not on their list.

There is a reason the SPLC was removed from the FBI website as a source for civil rights information.

OK, I'll bite. Please provide your reason. Please provide some informative, non-partisan backup to support your claims.

Only 52 at most assuming any connection at all to traditional marriage. Its broken down for you

To the op. there is nothing inconsistent between fundamental belief in a Christian God, the birth, death and resurrection of Jesus as the son of God, and any beliefs in racism, white separatism, anti-Semitism, homophobia etc.

Now there is nothing inherently consistent either.

Most Christians hate non Christians regardless of what their Christ says. They even seem ti hate other Christians who they call non-Christian because they don't bow down properly.

According to your link, the SPLC was removed, because they aren't a government organization. The FBI only wanted to use government organizations for their list of resources. According to your link, this reason was provided by 2 different FBI sources.

This thread wasn't created to be a Christian versus atheism debate.

Wrong. Every group that stands for traditional marriage is considered a hate group by the SPLC, but they only put the groups that wield national power in their so-called "hate list".

And everyone knows it. SPLC lost all credibility long ago. You waste your time with these endless threads on the SPLC.

The SPLC is nothing more than an anti-white hate group trying to pass itself off as legitimate. Nothing they say can be taken seriously. There may be Christian hate groups, anything is possible. The SPLC adds and removes 'hate groups' according to the liberal agenda of the day. When the Tea Party was big, the SPLC 'found' anti-government/conspiracy hate groups, when immigration is the headline they 'find' anti-immigrant 'hate groups'. Just another arm of the liberal propaganda machine...

That was an official line, but there was also the undisclosed variety of reasons, of which their every increasing list of hate groups that is politically motivated.

There is a lack of backup to your response. Biased opinions don't stand alone. Please provide backup.

I didn't look that hard. The simple fact is that the FBI isn't going tok come right out and call what was once a legitimate organization a hate group.

The Anti-Defamation League was also removed from the FBI's list. From your link, this was their statement:

The ADL immediately took umbrage at the removal back in March 2014. ADL’s then-National Director Abraham Foxman expressed shock that the FBI removed the group unilaterally without any discussion, whatsoever.

“We are shocked, surprised and disappointed that this would be done without any consultation with groups such as ours who have been working closely with the Federal Bureau of Investigation on issues of hate crime. We look forward to having further conversations with them on this issue,” Foxman said at the time.

Reading more into the article is not a responsible way to investigate matters. Perhaps more research is necessary to support your claim?

Years of observation, go look at their 'information' from the past. In any given year certain hot topics arise and miraculously the SPLC finds corresponding 'hate groups'. Its pathetic and obvious. You can look that stuff up yourself, looking their filthy lies once is enough for me...

Really? They were shocked and disappointed is their defense?

I know very little aboujt the ADL and never even knew they were on there.

I've done all the needed research. You can read whatever you want into it. FBI removed them for a number of reasons then came up with an excuse only after they were pressed on it.

I posted their categories for hate groups:
    Ku Klux Klan - 130
    Neo-Nazi - 99
    White Nationalist -100
    Racist Skinhead - 78
    Christian Identity - 21
    Neo-Confederate - 43
    Black Separatist - 193
    Anti-LGBT - 52
    Anti-Muslim - 101
    General Hate - 100

Do you agree with their categories, or should some be removed, and others added?
