Well, that has to do with the LEGITIMATE use of taxes(paying for services the government provides to promote the common welfare) as opposed to what we currently do which is confiscate people's earnings and handing to those we "deem" more worthy of what you earned....... :roflol:

    - - - Updated - - -

AMAZINGLY, progressives think other people have more of a right to what you earned than you do.

That's funny, I believe the same thing.

We didn't create this country at all. But we live in it and decide what we want it to do now.

Apparently you don't since you support social welfare.

No, the constitution is the Supreme Law of the land, not what you want. The constitution is supposed to protect me from people like you.

I do and believe the same thing.

The constitution is primarily the blue print for how the federal government is to operate.

They say that beauty is in the eye of the beholder. So is equality. So, stake your claim and live up to it.

And don't forget to eat the pie crust.

Obviously people have different levels of physical fatness and mobility, not to mention different mental abilities. But it does not follow that that these differences justify a situation where one person has economic or political control over a person of 'lower' abilities. Every person should be able to develop their mental and physical abilities without coercion.

Furthermore, our current system is not a meritocracy. Even if different abilities justified hierarchy this system is not a reflection of that. Upward mobility depends just as much on favourable relationships with higher-ups and ass-kissing as it depends on actual skill levels.

Actually, it seems that conservatives have no clue about what "progressives" think. Your post proves that. They actually presume, that progressives are promoting Egalitarianism. That's not what they are saying at all. However, in the conservative's narrow minded view, they are told this through talking points, and then run with it on the assumption that it's true.

Only a real bonehead would assume that one would think that people are created with equal talents in the genetic lottery. These idiots think that the progressive, or liberal, would insist that in the 100 meters, everyone should finish in a tie. That Usain Bolt should not run faster then Tom the Turtle. They actually think, that the progressive thinks this. And then they write posts like this suggesting that progressives don't understand the phrase "All men are created equal". They insist that liberals and progressives are demanding equal outcome, as opposed to equal opportunity. Then, after convincing themselves of this nonsense, they jump into the fray with false accusations built on false assumptions exactly like the post by this author, summing it all up with this; "Why is it EVERYTHING progressives advocate for, forces the individual to slave for someone else? Do they HATE freedom for the individual?" . The only response to this nonsense, is Why is it that EVERYTHING that conservatives think about progressives and liberals is built on lies? Debating with a conservative is impossible, because they adopt absurd and irrational positions that they have convinced themselves are true. And of course, they can't possibly be wrong, because the conservative ideology is infallibly correct, despite the fact that it's a product of a fallible source. So, knowing that YOU are a fallible human being, you certainly must know and ADMIT that you could be wrong about a few things. AND...if you know that, then you must admit that your very ideology could also be wrong about a few things, since it's man made, and man is fallible. EVEN Conservative Men are fallible.

And what is that principle based on? Demonstrate the truth of that principle for us. Subscribing to a principle that has no basis, will most certainly keep a man in everlasting ignorance. Orthodoxy is the enemy of knowledge.

Lets see how that argument looks; when put into Standard Form.
P1. There is a principle which is a bar against all information
P2. The principle is proof against all arguments
P3. The principle cannot fail to keep a man in everlasting ignorance
    ______________________________________________________
    C. Therefore; that principle is contempt prior to investigation."

Applying critical thinking, and basic logic to this axiom which is the conclusion that the principle is called "contempt prior to investigation", leaves one scratching his head. An axiom, or postulate, is a premise or starting point of reasoning. A self-evident principle or one that is accepted as true without proof as the basis for argument; a postulate. But you don't use the axiom as a premise. You use it as a self evident conclusion which standing alone says; "Contempt prior to Investigation", which is a meaningless statement. You could have just as easily said, "Bones after Woodshed" and made just as much sense. Instead you offer a set of premises that are intended to logically follow to the conclusion that "Contempt prior to Investigation" has some kind of deep meaning. Words to live by. Fighting words. A would be motto. :applause: Bravo. If this signature of yours is evidence of the way that you think, it's no wonder that your argument is so completely devoid of reason. Why is it that Conservatives always rely on axioms and slogans to do their thinking for them?

I think most of us would appreciate it if you turned down the show-off notch a bit. We don't care about your personal achievements and an internet forum is not the right place to seek affirmation. Please stick to actual arguments instead of lame attempts to assert your superiority over us lowly commoners.

Not always, my law school was pretty corrupt with favoritism from professors, but you certainly need at least some intelligence to get to the top or else the people covering for you start looking really bad.

Equality is equal treatment under the law.

To err is human, but to earn... is divine.

I'll let you win the argument that Reagan spent too much on the military if you let me win the argument that we shouldn't have to PAY for tax cuts because as a rule, people, human beings who work for a living should be able to keep more of what they work for... a LIVING.

    Fair enough?

This idea of we have to pay for tax breaks or tax cuts or low taxes. Actually, no, we don't. The government should pay for tax breaks by not spending us 17 trillion into the hole. FACT.

I can work and pay for the things I want much cheaper than what the government can steal from me and redistribute it back to me for. FACT.

    Give respect and get respect.

You have two lungs. Should the government take one? You'll breathe fine. Relax. Which arm do you favor? Which hand do you use? We need the other one. Relax, you still have 50% of your upper appendages. At least you paid your "fair share". I see you have two legs and feet. Do you need all of them?

Why is it that the definition of "fair share" is what someone ELSE thinks WE should pay for THEM to help the poor? I speak for me and yet you profess to speak for the poor. Cannot the poor speak for themselves? Maybe the 50% you took from them was their voice? Along with 50% of their mind since you profess to think for them and their needs as well.

Why not let EVERYone keep more of the money they live, work and die for and let each one think, speak and spend for themselves?

Mirror mirror on the wall, they who get to keep themselves get the fairest share of all.

You assumed wrong , capitalism is based on the exploitation of the labor of others so it wouldn't be viable if OP's statement is put in practice.

Amazing how people who probably don't even have a toilet to take a dump in and have to use a bucket can be tricked into arguing that taxing the rich is a bad thing.

Just going by the arguments I see daily by progressives. :roflol:

Ah.... So you're going to explain what EQUAL opportunity is right? Maybe point out where there is no equal opportunity? (This should be good!)

That's a pretty long ad hominem..... I'd try and shorten it up a little bit. You could always go with some like "Ur stupit". :roflol:

Well no. It takes more than just intellect to finish class valedictorian. It takes motivation, time management, prioritization goal setting etc. All the things that make me successful regardless of what I do as opposed to waiting by the mailbox for the EBT card.

This isn't about taxing the rich and paying for legitimate government services. This is about taking from person's earnings and handing to another by government force who DIDN"T EARN IT.

It's called armed robbery by definition but dopey progressives use all kinds of wacked out excuses to justify it morally..... Which there is no moral justification.

Let me ask you a simple question.

You make $800 a week. I think that you make too much so I'm entitled to $200 of your earnings because I don't make as much as you. Am I entitled to the $200 you earned?

If yes, I'll send you an address you can mail the money to. :roflol:

Your false dichotomy is false. You fail to understand how government works, therefore your argument is as valid as me saying that homosexuals are child molesters.

    Try again.

    EDIT:

    I'll even elaborate.

Your country is your home. Do you pay bills to live in your home? Of course you do. That's the cost of living. Now imagine for a moment that your A/C, your water, your gas, your electric, it's all tax run. Even your internet, it's tax based. Are you still going to argue that it's wrong to pay for them?

I mean, they should be free, right? Oh wait, let's put it into the free market so that these infrastructure elements of the lifestyle you want and enjoy benefit someone else so they can have more than you....

No matter how you slice it, you're going to pay for everything, that's how an economy works. You're just splitting hairs about whether a government which doesn't run for profit should get the money to pay for things which benefit SAID (*)(*)(*)(*)ING ECONOMY (in a perfect world which in America, we are corporate slaves) or whether it should benefit an individual who staked a claim on something that everyone wants in the first place.

Your argument is simply a whiny baby's argument of 'why do i have (*)(*)(*)(*) in a toilet!'.

We all know you don't (*)(*)(*)(*) where you eat.

Learn that fact and your life will be enriched.

Apparently you didn't read my post, because AFTER I posted this wasn't about being taxed for legitimate government services..... you continued to argue YOUR argument, not mine....:roflol:

I do give you credit for elaborating your strawman argument though! Most people don't go into such elaborate detail with their strawman arguments.

You threw up the strawman in your response. I didn't need to read the entire banter of this post. You said exactly what you wanted in the first post.

Taxing is theft when it's used to benefit others.

    Your point is made.

You're an idiot, go buy your own island and make your own way. You alluded that this is what you wanted to do in your first post, why do we need to dance about, citing 'strawmen' (nice political speak, how much tv do you watch?) but in the end, you're pissed off that your taxes benefit everyone.

So....go to a place where your money only benefits you. I hear ethiopia is nice this time of year...
