Now why would he pick a gun free zone, when we have all these laws to protect us?

    Maybe he didn't know.

He probably would have seen the sign and been concerned about violating the law, then went home.

I mean who wants to get in trouble for bringing a gun into a gun free zone! That would be just horrible!

Golly another second gen convert.... Whatever will we do now? Thankfully because he identified his targets as "kuffars" he gets to insinuate himself as a hate crime planner. However will the leftist progressive apologists respond?

Unfortunately, federal hate crime laws won’t apply. The feds consider him to be a minor because he is 17. Texas is prosecuting him as an adult.

An interesting note: Plano schools was one of the few school districts in Texas organizing anti gun protests a couple of weeks ago.

The link said he could get life imprisonment. I hope he serves every day of it.

I am also reminded that people who are entitled to carry concealed firearms should not comply with a mall rule that says not to carry. Just keep it well concealed.

reminder that you could die in a senseless act of violence at any time and that no amount of preparation or concealed carry will save you. get used to it

Too bad he wasn't interested in attacking the Dallas chapter of Scientology at 451 Decker Drive, Irving, TX. Maybe he would have received applause and not spend the rest of his life in jail.

Are you a fatalist? Do you believe that your death is foretode and there is nothing you can do about it?

i believe in neither fatalism nor free will, i believe that we're all more or less helpless in the face of randomness

Not helpless. For lack of a better word, some people are "unlucky" like the lady killed recently on the Southwest flight. OTOH, when we read about some tourist killed in Mexico the odds are they were "looking for trouble"; drugs, hookers, gambling, etc at night in the wrong part of town.

If someone is involved in a fatal car accident on New Year's Eve and arrested for DUI, was that "bad luck"? Was he a victim of "randomness"? Or just ****ing stupid and the odds caught up to him?

There's no god punishing people for their sins. People get away with **** for no reason, people face the consequences for no reason.

Sure. Or I could draw and double tap them in about 1 second. Either or.

Agreed. I believe in God, but I'm a Deist. While life and death may seem completely random, it's not. We each do have some decisions to make that increase or decrease our chances of success or failure. OTOH, sometimes the odds are against us like the lady on Southwest. However, that was very random event.

Your claim that "concealed carry" wouldn't matter is wrong, IMO. It could very well make the difference between living and dying. Heck, just the training and the mindset may make a difference. Do you know why? It's the same advice given by the FBI in such situations. Do know what they are without looking them up?

    If not, here:

    Run-Hide-Fight

Against an armed assailant, it's better to also have a firearm rather than just rely on their poor aim.

Maybe we should all drive around blind-folded.

I mean, if it's our time, it's our time and keeping your eyes open won't help.

That's exactly what some people would have us believe, but I think they'll outgrow it by their 30s.....well, most will. [IMG]

Everyone is convinced they'd be a hero. More likely, you'd fumble for your gun and then spent a solid minute missing each other before one of you died.

ROFL. Dude, you are a fatalist. Did you even read what others have written here? Even if a person has a gun, the smart move is to get your family and friends the hell out of there. If you can't run, then hide. If you can't hide then fight like that young unarmed man who fought the naked restaurant shooter. No doubt you'd have just sat down and waited to be shot.
