In an oligarchy like the US the only raking that would be acceptable is a ranking of what is the best system for the top tier of the population. Let's start simple. We already have a shortage of doctors. By cutting pay, it will simply expand on that issue and push more doctors into a concierge practice where wages for general practitioners are much better.
So instead we subsidize medical school heavily and pay them all salaries, freeing them from having to push for fees for maximum services.... for starters.
So now we are going to take all of those savings and spend them on giving away free medical school. And pay them salaries. And pay their staff? And their for their equipment and facilities? And for malpractice insurance? Damn. This free care is getting expensive.
Right. It's time the rich paid back a little of their take over the last 40 years. And just think: no more health insurance premiums, no more employer and employee medical benefits cost, And healthcare per capita would cost between 20% and 40% less to boot.
We aren't talking about that yet. We are talking about the doctors and what it would cost to make sure we have enough of them. Now, do you have a response to my comment or are you going to concede that cutting doctors pay by 50% just turned out to be a dead end?
