Austria joins France and Belgium banning Burqas. Those caught will be given 150 dollar fine in Euros. That or Community Service. Note the Austrians also ruled companies could ban their employees from wearing a veil to. What say ye?

Austria is the latest country to ban people from wearing a full-face veil in public. The Austrian parliament approved the ban on Tuesday evening. The ban was part of a series of rules designed to help migrants better integrate to the country, and also included stipulations that migrants take classes to learn German. Migrants were also encouraged to volunteer for charitable organizations.

Several other European countries, including France and Belgium, have also banned the wearing of full-face veils in public. Austrian courts have previously ruled that companies have the right to ban their employees from wearing a veil......snip~

I say, with a great deal of reluctance, that it's a good thing. Most educated Muslims with an interest in integrating should have been able to figure this out for themselves.

The burka is not part of any religion but is intended to draw a sharp distinction between 'them' and 'us' a symbol of no interest or intention of integrating into a common culture. That's it's an insult to women is clear but then Islam itself is an insult to women..

    You make two main points:
    1) Austria joins France and Belgium banning Burqas.

    2) The burka is not part of any religion but is intended to draw a sharp distinction between 'them' and 'us'

You should document both with authoritative links.

Why do you want them to integrate? That's the question you should be asking. These people are not Europeans, and come from lands that have historically been hostile towards Europeans since the very beginning. Why are we taking away their ability to proudly pronounce how non-European they are? Don't you want Europeans to be able to recognize them and take the necessary precautions?

:) Not a bad point but the idea is to make them less Muslims and more European, with the freedoms and responsibilities which naturally follow. Of course their leaders want no part of this, which is why they insist on burkas for women and certainly no marriages with the kaffir.

    O
We know they have 'honor' killings to impose these religious bigotries, another clue that there is little interest in genuine assimilation. Murder and/or torture for leaving Islam is also not uncommon.

However an article recently claimed that more Muslims than ever are leaving Islam, especially those in developed countries, but are naturally very secretive about it. Here's another on the subject. http://www.nationalreview.com/artic...erica-face-leftist-scorn-muslim-death-threats

The old days are gone and Islam is a reality within the democracies. Only education, and the pointing out of the ongoing ignorance and anti social behavior of Islam, can some sort of cohesion be eventually achieved.

Don't bother telling me what I should do. If you have a counter argument let's see it.

Why do we want Arab Muslims to become European? Personally I don't want that. Europe should be the homeland for European peoples. Arab Muslims have their own homelands.

But you seem to have time to make false assertions, such as "You make two main points:
    1) Austria joins France and Belgium banning Burqas".

Never said that at all, and you were actually quoting beneath my post.

Cmon now, that will dishearten the leftness. Moreover it would just be another law that they wouldn't accept.

How many people in Austria actually wear a burqa?

Sounds to me like they're making a mountain of a molehill. Just pointless posturing with no actual practical benefit.

Who will benefit from this legislation?

So now devout Muslims can more easily blend into European society, and you think that is a good thing?

All. In Germany we want introduce the same. Employers are already allowed to ban veil. Islam is an abomination and burka and all this **** is the worst of it. It angers people and provocates. When they are here i expect 100% assimilation. If they cant live with that, they have to go. This way or the other.

They cant. A rat born in a horse paddock will always be a rat and never a horse. And thats also how most of the public see it.

Fair point, but wouldn't you agree that these people:

stand out more in society than these people:

Why would conservatives be happy about this? They want to proudly identify to society "I'm a Muslim, I'm not like you Europeans", and we are making it illegal for them to do that?

Do you know any others running around in Burqas in Austria, other than Muslims?

No they aren't making a mountain out of molehill. They already ruled that Businesses could ban the burqas with their employees. So it looks like they are doubling down on a good policy.

Ah, so the problem is that it angers and provokes? So, any garment that one wears that provokes someone should be banned?

And 100% assimilation, that is a thought. What, exactly, is 100% assimilation? Do they have to participate in Oktoberfest? Drink Radler? Eat gigantic pretzels?

    Which women will benefit?

How many women do you think will see this legislation and go "Oh my, so a burqa or niqab is illegal, I'll just stop wearing it!"? In round numbers. After all, I think that category will consist of the roundest number of all.

It might take them a while to get used to the idea that they're human beings, but eventually Muslim women will realize it.

You think people who are perfectly fine with completely concealing their whole body will just drop that idea?

And what about those who are actually forced by men to wear such garments, do you think those men will just go "Oh, what the hell, it's not that important!"?

Not to mention how disrespectful your idea is that someone is less of a human being for wearing a veil.
