AZ Legislature Passes Universal School Choice Legislation, Expanding Empowerment Scholarship Account Eligibility to EVERY Family No Matter What School They Atten

I see this as a good thing. If parents doesn’t like a particular school for their kids or think another one would be more suitable, then now they don’t have to sell their house and move in order to do it. I also believe this will incentivize under performing schools to step up a little more.

For the last few days a lot of people have been screaming about freedom of choice, well here it is.

Cue the mad dash to hide school performance and demographics data from parents.

The best Private schools around the Miami area cost about $40,000 - $60,000 a year per student. I doubt that the State is going to foot those bills ... so
what happens when the better schools fill up - can parents sue the school to let their kid in? Will rich kids get preference because then
the State won't have to pick up the financial slack. Seems to be a lot of questions surrounding a "dog whistle" law.
