(CNN)Scientists in Japan have discovered a strain of bacteria that can eat plastic, a finding that might help solve the world's fast-growing plastic pollution problem.

The species fully breaks down one of the most common kinds of plastic called Polyethylene terephthalate (PET). It's the type often used to package bottled drinks, cosmetics and household cleaners.

The findings, published in the academic journal 'Science' on Friday, say that "Ideonella sakaiensis breaks down the plastic by using two enzymes to hydrolyze PET and a primary reaction intermediate, eventually yielding basic building blocks for growth."

This could be really good news for the environment. Almost a third of all plastic packaging escapes collection systems and ends up in nature or clogging up infrastructure, the World Economic Forum (WEF) warned.

The WEF report, based on analysis of 20 studies and interviews with 180 experts, also said only 14% of plastic packaging is collected for recycling and that there will be more plastic than fish calculated by weight in the world's oceans by 2050.

Back in September, researchers also found that mealworms can live on a diet of styrofoam and other types of plastic.

There's a garbage island of mainly plastic in the Pacific 2X the size of Texas. The weight of plastic in the oceans is approaching the weight of all marine life in the oceans. I wonder if those plastic eating bacteria could be turned loose in it without unintended consequences.

To be seen. But garbage islands are an odious shame and stigma upon humanity, a demonstration of how willing humanity is to shat the nest, a weakness of the collective mind of humanity.

Toluene eats rubber. Hydrochloric acid eats rust. Lithium eats skin. Acetone eats paint. Sodium hydroxide eats flesh. Sulfuric acid eats toilet bacteria. Anhydrous ammonia eats spills.

Who said Meth was bad? And overly made to be seen as a 'bad' drug? I don't get bad symptoms when I use.

There is this person who has been using for 20 consecutive years, on a DAILY basis and he's still doing okay. What is all this hype talk about the 'badness' of Meth? They're just trying to make trouble. Nothing but BS it seems. Damn Republicans!

Is it Satan or is it drugs?

    Genesis 3:1

"Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?"

I haven't gotten to the psychosis to think or believe that a person can be a serpent or a serpent a person but I think the more vivid my hallucinations become, I might begin believing it.

The difficult part and the long haul part is waiting until the others begin getting their heads on straight. This is the wearing down part.

But to answer the question I asked, I would say it's a lot more drugs than some serpent on its belly who is eating dust for the rest of its days.

Serial killers and serial predators are more 'satan' than your everyday substance abuser.

And I would HAVE TO place odds that the serial killers and/or rapists are consumers to illicit drugs, even if on the 'occasional' or 'recreational' level.

Have you ever knowingly and willingly cheated someone out of their lunch money?

    You've got a 'devilish' heart.

    Bad or Obstinate?

Another easy one is plastic stir sticks. You use them for five seconds. Crazy! They could be made of paper or wood.

Aug. 7, 2018 – On Sept. 8, an ungainly, 2,000-foot-long contraption will steam under the Golden Gate Bridge in what’s either a brilliant quest or a fool's errand.

Plastics are known to have something within them that causes a estrogen reaction in the human body. False estrogen mimicking 'chemicals'; (?).

    That's just it.

Allowing a new species to populate in an environment oftentimes has unintended results.

Even if it eats plastic, it turns it into CO2 or worse methane. We then have more global warming instead of plastic. We need to leave coal and oil underground.
